Re: Somewhat early 2024 Draft thread

I don't know if JSN's ADP dropping is a case of dynasty managers being impatient, or a case of the non-stop Internet hype raising expectations sky high. Or a combination of the two. That's an interesting point. I've been chalking it up to impatience. It could definitely be, maybe in large part, an ...

Re: Bryce Young

Bryce was an outlier. He's a 5f10 QB without the dual threat that Kyler had. It was just a bad move, at the time, and now. I can't get my head around it, I never thought it was the right move, for that player. You just don't spend that on an outlier. It's bad process. Yes, YOU were the guy who was ...

Re: Bryce Young

That would have been the better idea though, at that point, knowing the QB class for 2024, vs doing what they did. Passing on QB' for 3 years when they were in range to take one doesn't mean you go on in, in a down year for a QB class, IMO. Bryce was an outlier. He's a 5f10 QB without the dual thre...

Re: Bryce Young

I disagree. I thought the price of the trade was egregious the moment I saw it, well before the draft. Panthers paid up like there was a top QB prospect in the 2023 draft class. Like Burrow, TLaw, or even Caleb was sitting there waiting to be picked. I realize that the 2023 QB class looked better a...

Re: Somewhat early 2024 Draft thread

I get that Odunze might lose value after year 1. But that's not how I view these things. I wouldn't draft his talent and then go sell low after he was playing behind 2 all pros. I get it though if you play in a shortsighted league. Stay away from Odunze then go try to steal him next offseason from ...

Re: Somewhat early 2024 Draft thread

Putting on my fire suit while I type this - but the more I think about it, I'm contemplating factoring in situation more than I have in the past. Practically what that would mean in SF: JJM > Maye or Odunze Brooks > Bowers McConkey at ~1.10 and over BTJ Out on Penix even at a discount I don't think...

Re: Bryce Young

That's how it appeared to me. There were people saying "his size is a concern", but with the next breath I recall them all saying "he's still the best choice a #1." No one in an NFL front office (of a qb-needy team) was so worried about his size (or anything else about him) to d...

Re: Bryce Young

I don't necessarily disagree ... but which 2023 qb-needy draft team do you think was a team that would have chosen a different QB at 1.01 over Young? It seems like the hype around Bryce had grown to a level where it was all but certain that he would be the 1.01 pick. Sort of like with CW in 2024, o...

Re: Bryce Young

I think it is more than just the coaching change. Sure, Canales should help. The Panthers also had a bottom 3 offensive line in 2023, and the worst receiver room in the NFL. Some improvements in both of those areas have been made, but overall are probably still below average. Not horrendous anymore...

Re: Bryce Young

I'm no Bryce Young fan, as I do not trust short QBs, specially when they are not extremely athletic. However, shouldn't Bryce Young deserve a pass for having a complete abysmal coaching staff in 2023? Not sure why we were all fooled that Frank Reich was a good coach, because he assuredly was not. D...

Re: Somewhat early 2024 Draft thread

It won't shock me if McCarthy puts up better numbers. Maye is in an unproven situation with bottom-tier playmakers. Minnesota is returning key starters on the offensive line, two very good route runners, a very good TE, and one of the better OC's in the NFL. They have a lot of continuity and McCart...

Re: 2024 Injury Thread

Man I love and hate this thread. Great source of info, but hate to see injuries already (even real minor ones). The silver lining is that it's May, and unless it's a significant injury or you play in an OTAs dynasty league, none of this stuff really matters. Hamstring tweaks and ankle sprains are f...

Re: Somewhat early 2024 Draft thread

Coming back around on rookie QBs—I'm seeing JJM and Maye going in the same range in 1 QB. Who do you like? Obviously most everyone has CW at the top, with Daniels 2nd. Just curious. I'm looking at ADP and was surprised to see JJM going before Maye. Maye for me. JJM is simply too much of a mystery b...

Unless you play in redraft, I don't understand why someone would take a replaceable RB over a 1st Round WR.
