Sio Moore

Postby bamafan1987 » Tue Sep 03, 2013 11:39 am

I noticed on Our Lads that Sio Moore is listed as the starting strong side LB. new to IDP but it's my understanding the weak side LB is normally who you want? Is Sio Moore worth owning right now over guys like Nigel Bradham and Kevin Minter who are available on waivers?

They've talked Sio up as extremely versatile and that he can play all three linebacker positions, factor that with a bad Raiders team and he makes for a great stash if you have a roster spot available. If Roach fails to impress in the middle I could see Sio moving inside.

Typically the strong side is not good fro fantasy production. The strong side LB ends up taking on a block from a O-lineman or tackle on most plays to keep the other LB's free. Sio is a longer term prospect and production this year shouldn't really be counted on.

Agreed. Take him and stash him if you can, but you can't count on him for many fantasy starts this year.

Already scooped up Minter yesterday for him so that's great to hear. Thanks

Bradham could be a 3 down LB, so I could see that choice. I wouldn't take a 2-down thumper like Minter over him. In reality, teams are playing nickle close to 50%, so guys like Minter won't be on the field much and that player mold could be extinct from the NFL in the near future with the spread/no huddle offense. If the opposing team doesn't allow the defense to make changes, then they can't have guys who aren't good in coverage stuck out there for teams to exploit.
