Ultraflex Rookie Draft

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Ultraflex Rookie Draft

Postby frerichs5 » Mon May 06, 2024 8:18 pm

This is a 12 team Ultraflex PPR league. Start two SF spots and 8 regular flex spots. TEs do get 2ppr even though they’re not required to start.

I have quite a few extra picks this year from some very fortunate trades. Last year I sent 1.12 pre rookie draft for a 1st this year that lucked into 1.01. I then flipped 1.01 a few weeks ago for 1.02 & 2.02. Other extra picks came from trading Levis after his first start during the season for a 1st and 2nd that turned into 1.08 and 2.08.

1.01 Caleb Williams
1.02 Marvin Harrison (me)
1.03 Jayden Daniels
1.04 Malik Nabers (me)
1.05 JJ McCarthy
1.06 Brock Bowers
1.07 Rome Odunze
1.08 Drake Maye (me)
1.09 Brian Thomas
1.10 Jonathan Brooks
1.11 Keon Coleman
1.12 Ladd McConkey
2.01 Bo Nix
2.02 Xavier Worthy (me)
2.03 Trey Benson
2.04 Michael Penix (me)
2.05 OTC

I think the board fell pretty well for me. No lineup requirements make it easy to just try and draft for value. Anyone think I’ve missed anything big yet? I have 2.08 coming up again in a few more picks.

Looks pretty good to me. I’ve never tried ultraflex but it seems like rankings/draft follows Superflex pretty closely. Do you notice an even high QB premium in this type of league (in rookie draft and in trades in general)?

I think QBs have been pretty comparable to a normal SF league. Only thing I’ve noticed is there are maybe slightly fewer trades in general than other leagues. There’s not many RB for WR type trades to fill needs because there are no needs. Haha. Still have your typical picks/prospects for vets though.

Wow that draft fell perfect for you. Rbs lose even more value in this format not having to start them, smash wr.

My final tally from this draft:

1.02 M Harrison
1.04 M Nabers
1.08 D Maye
2.02 X Worthy
2.04 M Penix
2.08 X Legette
3.04 M Corley
4.04 E All (2ppr)

I feel great about how the draft fell and added some talent. Now hoping a few of them actually pan out.

Not sure I’m a contender yet this year (probably not with all the rookies), but I’ve got a lot of young talent. I’ve completely ignored RBs.

Starting lineup will look something like:

SF - Josh Allen
SF - TLaw
Flex - Jefferson
Flex - Metcalf
Flex - G Wilson
Flex - London
Flex - Ferguson (2ppr)
Flex - Diontae
Flex - Harrison
Flex - Nabers

Top Bench Options - Maye, Penix, Worthy, Legette, Dotson, Jeudy, Gabe Davis, Shaheed, Corley, Bateman

No extra future picks going forward now, but I do have all my own if it goes south.
