Zeke and Cook (rd. 2)

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Zeke and Cook (rd. 2)

Postby stevothepirate » Thu Jul 28, 2022 5:56 pm

Sorry to bump this again. Trade partner got cold feet on the 2 for 2, but countered with me adding a 2023 2nd on my end to get it done.

So it would be:
Fields, Zeke, 2nd for Cook and a 1st.

Thoughts on that one? I feel like I'm giving up too much with the 2023 class, but want to get out of zeke and fields... I'm seeing if he'd go for Darnold instead of the 2nd.

If you can hold out the 2nd, I think the value is there to move on if the 1st is not likely late. I'm not a Fields believer though. He still carries value in SF though.

If the first is early and second is late - might not be as bad, but try Darnold instead!

No bite on Darnold- his offer is still sitting out there in my inbox but it just feels like I'm giving up a bit much. The only start 1 rb makes want a stud so its tempting. 1st should be early and it's my 2nd so hoping late again.

@gator I wasn't quite sure if you were pro or against the deal, and always value your input haha

I’d do this in a heartbeat. Zeke is wearing down and in a time share in the backfield. Justin Fields has NOBODY around him and is playing for a coach and a GM who didn’t draft him AND Chicago is going to have an EXTREMELY early first round pick next year in a draft that has some nice QBs.
Cook >>.Zeke
1st >> 2nd
Fields: Doomsville: Population: 1

this feels like fields and a 2nd for a 1st to me. both zeke and cook are high profile high wear backs that are rapidly declining in value. they had about same yards last year and zeke had several more tds, and that was a down year where he was banged up. seems silly to me to assume cook is gonna be way better than zeke and sacrifice a 2nd year high profile qb. If the first is projected a top 6 pick and it seems like a lock i might be into it cuz you likely get a high end rb or qb with a pick there anyway and the loss of fields doesnt hurt as much

Must be a top 6 1st and even then I would want confirmation on Cook's hand injury yesterday at practice.
