Jerry Jeudy vs Devonta Smith

Who would you rather have?

They had fairly similar rookie years in terms of catches and yards. Jeudy was hurt for a bit of year 2 and didn’t take the next step some expected. Devonta has AJ Brown around now in a run heavy offense. Hard to say what Broncos offense will look like with Wilson.

Looks like rankings and several analyzers have them pretty close to each other.

I would rather gamble on Jeudy based on all factors but most notably QB and no alpha WR on the depth chart. Sutton may be that guy, but we do not know as of now. Jeudy seems to be a touch more valuable too.

[Anteaters]

Tough call made tougher with Jeudy's recent legal flameup. I would want to prefer Smith, but I have a hard time imagining the WR2 and OverallReceiver3 in Philly's current offense being fantasy relevant. This has a WR50 season written all over it.

Jeudy has a small (very small) chance at somehow magically stealing a co-Alpha role in Denver. At best he might have a WR20-25 season, but I think he's also head for the 50s or lower.

Long term, I'd easily rather have Devonta, because I think he has the better chance at eventually being a multi-year AlphaWR for an NFL team. Hopefully you're not planning on depending on either of them to start for you in 2022. As long as we're talking bench players with a chance for future returns, I'm going Devonta. If you're taking a wild gamble that one of these guys need to produce for your team in 2022 for you to be a contender, I'd lean Jeudy.
