Rebuild: Trade Edmonds?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Rebuild: Trade Edmonds?

Postby Prison_Mike » Thu Mar 31, 2022 11:05 am

12tm PPR SuperFlex

I'm (hopefully) nearing the end of a rebuild and I have the following offer for Chase Edmonds:

Give: Chase Edmonds
Get: 2.05

This owner also has the 2.02, which he won't budge on straight up.
But I think if I include the 3.05 I could bump that up to the 2.02

Take it since Chase is more of a committee back or hold because he gives the type of production you hope for from a 2nd?

Thoughts?

Here's my roster:
QB: Dak, Baker
RB: Edmonds, Hines, White, Evans, D'Ernest
WR: Jefferson, AJB, DJM, Kirk, OBJ, C.Davis, Shepard, Campbell, Cedrick, Washington
TE: Fant, OJH, Ebron
'22 Picks: 1.03, 1.06, 2.03, 3.05
'23 Picks: 1st, 1st, 3rd

If you can land the 2.02 with adding the 3rd, I think that is solid value in a rebuild. Either way, I think the pick is the best return based on your build. I don't think anyone gives a 1st for Edmonds at any point.

Absolutely for either pick. Worth adding the 3rd to move up. Could land you a player at the end of a tier.

I'd add the 3rd for the 2.02. I don't see Edmunds being a viable consistent starter beyond this year. He will just stand in your way of the 1.01 next year if he does get some points this year. I delt everyone away on my rebuild that I could that will only get me points this year that doesn't have a good chance of being a quality asset in 2023 and beyond.

I think the 2.2 is a bit of a crap shoot this year, but agree nobody will give you a first for him, so I would want that second rounder to be a 2023 instead.

He does have two 2nds in 2023 and both could be early. Could probably get that done

I will go against the grain, I feel confident that Edmonds will be worth more than a mid 2nd at some point this year.

He has had opportunities in the past. I doubt a couple of good games raises his value much because he is now a known commodity.

Aim for a 2023 2nd. If you cant get that, aim for the 2.02. If you cant get that, take the 2.05.

Chase Edmonds is not a long term fantasy asset. The odds of getting better than a 2nd for him in the future are very very slim.

I have tried for the 2.02, he won’t budge on it.

He has agreed to 2.05 + Fuller for Edmonds + 3.05 if I want to take that

I could try for the ‘23 2nds but now that I go look at the rosters it’s possible they’ll both be late. One is from a decent team but has injuries. The other is from a rebuilding team that has ammo to compete and is a QB away. (He has Chase, Diontae, DK, Barkley, ETN, 1.01 - but literally no starting QBs)

I would take this and then when fuller looks good flip him for a 23 2nd

Please be aware Will Fuller is the hardest player in fantasy to trade. He will rot on your bench
