Cash out on CEH?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Cash out on CEH?

Postby jwb32 » Fri Jul 31, 2020 8:13 am

Team 1.....solid contender (imo)
Considering cashing out in CEH hype (albeit risky). Thinking of targeting Jacobs+. Owner has following assets:
Ruggs
Debo
Pittman
Mims
Bryan Edwards
Hardman
Anthony Miller
McFarland

He doesn’t have any 2021 picks.
Anything here make sense for my team? Or is CEH too critical to my roster?

Jacobs + any of the first four players listed is a great return, but I would not force anything here either.

Ya I’d do any of the first 4 or Hardman myself. I’m pretty high on Jacobs.

I agree, I like Jacobs. I'd try for Jacobs/Ruggs first and then Jacobs/Deebo next. See if the Jacobs owner thinks that's close or not.

Jacobs is coming off a solid rookie campaign and was last years 1.01. I can’t see why another team would add to him for CEH honestly, doesn’t make much sense.

I agree with this. I think you’re overvaluing you’re own asset

Personally, CEH all the way for me. Jacobs looks good. But is he the the primary runner and the 3rd down back (presumably) for the number one offense in the NFL?
If I had Jacobs I would pay the price you are asking for CEH.

Sure CEH is also in arguably the best situation in the league but IMO Jacobs is a vetter talent

I'd need a overpay for CEH right now. Reid's rb's are always top flight fantasy wise. Maybe not the best rb, but the combo of running and receiving make them studs in fantasy. So unless you get a overpay I'm holding here for the potential next Shady.

Expecting to get Jacobs plus Deebo seems like wishful thinking, but I think even cashing him out for Jacobs plus Mims or Pittman would be good value.

This may not be a popular opinion, but I also wouldn't blame you for trading him for Jacobs straight up. The fact of the matter is we've seen it from Jacobs in the NFL already and he's the unquestioned number one on his team. We expect Clyde to be great, but none of that is proven yet so if you're all about minimizing your risk that's where I'd consider Jacobs.

I highly doubt you could get Jacobs straight up for CEH, let alone get any of the players you listed added on. It’s worth a try I guess. Anything is possible. But if you’re going to the Jacobs owner without him expressing any specific interest in CEH, I’d expect you to have to add to your side, in which case I’d just rather see what I have in CEH.

If you somehow CAN get any of those pieces added to Jacobs, I’d make that deal pretty easily.
Both are 12-team 1QB PPR dynasties

WR: Nuk $78/1, MT $25/1, M. Williams $1/0, JSN $21/5, Reed $4/5, Rice $4/5, M. Wilson $2/5

Is he coming to you asking for CEH? If so then ask for Jacobs+. If you’re approaching him then I doubt he’ll want to add anything to Jacobs. Personally I’d keep CEH.

I guess I’m in the minority but I would hold CEH. Jacobs had a good rookie year but I don’t think he has the upside CEH does because he’s not very involved in the passing game. Even last year when they had minimal receiving options. Jacobs+Deebo is the only one I would consider but I’m quite a bit higher on CEH than Jacobs.

I'd need a lot more than what is on that list. Jacobs is nice but he has yet to be a pass catcher and CEH is lining up to be all that and more. He is 1.05 in startup ADP according to Ryan McDowell's tweet this morning.

I pity anyone who drafts CEH at 5 in a startup.
