Cook vs. 1.01

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Cook vs. 1.01

Postby My BallZach Ertz » Sat Apr 25, 2020 5:32 am

What’s the difference at this point? I have always thought Cook is a sell now coming off of his good season and his injury proneness scares me.

Id keep cook, the way the draft has gone, Cam Akers is who I would take at 1.1 personally.

Was hoping to get Cook plus at least another first. I would take CEH if I was at the 1.01.

Cook is worth more than just 1.01 too I agree there. CEH definitely should be in that discussion too. I Have 1.02 in my draft this next week and know Akers is going at 1.01 so I'm debating between CEH who will be th better play this year or Dobbins who I think is the better long term play.

Cook>1.1 for me. I have no idea at this point who I would take at 1. Prior to the Draft I had it Swift, Taylor and Dobbins as the top 3 rbs. Now, I have no idea.

If you wanted to get two firsts for cook the time to sell him was weeks if not months ago.
Don't think you will get that now. People with the 1.01 will look at whoever they are drafting to be nearly as good as cook.
CEH is going to the most explosive offense
JT is going to a great O line and a team that wants to win now
Dobbins is going to an explosive offense running rpos. He'll have to deal with Ingram for one year but then that's it.
Akers is going to be the next Todd gurley
Swift has maybe a year of KJ but he can't stay healthy he's going to be gone sooner rather than later and Detroit needs to be competitive.

I'm not saying any of the rookies are better I'm just saying the teams that held the 1.01 are now hyped up on the potential and cook's injury history is a real problem. Is he more valuable than the 1.01? Yes. Is he a 1st more valuable? Maybe, but I'd never pay that.

I wouldn't fault anyone for loving Taylor or CEH over Cook, but I'd at least try to get 1.01 + 2nd if you're selling.

I would try to get another 1st or a young upside/solid asset on top of the 1.01 for Cook. Cooks injury history is a reason to sell as again he could not finish a full season last year and his points dropped significantly in the second half of the season. I'm not sure now that landing spots are settled, anyone is moving the 1.01 + for Cook though.

I would definitely want a bit more on top of 1.01 to sell cook. Maybe if you could get 1.01 plus a late 1st or a younger wr2 it would make more sense.

Don't fault anyone for wanting to sell though, as his injuries have always worried me.

Don't try to get the 1.01 it's honestly not worth it at all at this point. Realistically, the 1.01 got devalued big time IMO. If you were to poll right now who goes 1.01, there would be like 5 different results. If I was to trade into the draft now (which I probably wouldn't), I would aim for a mid 1st not an early one.

JT Indy
CEH Chiefs

Akers Rams

In no order, those are 7 studs that all landed in good situations. Why do you need the 1.1 this year?

I'm in a similar boat - I have posted asking about moving Cook out for 1.3 + but already have 1.1 and 1.2. Here is the thread:

I have been offered 1.3 and a first next year + a LB (not interested). Might ask for 1.3, 2.2 and a first next year.

The guy I’m looking to trade with has 1.1, 1.2, 1.9, 1.10. I thought about asking 1.2 & 1.9 and see if he would bite.

Trading Cook for the 1.01 feels like taking a loss to me. If you take Cam Akers 1.01 it feels like a double loss.
