2011 1st Round Predictions

Postby gratefulydead3 » Tue Apr 26, 2011 3:13 pm

The draft is here again, and what better way to celebrate than by watching your carefully arranged mock go right out the window?!

All credit to BradyT for the rules and scoring

RULES/SCORING(a mix between predicting the slot, team and position):

You get awarded the following amount of points: (with the example of AJ Green... )

You predict AJ Green at #6 to CLE and it happens: => 11 points

You predict AJ Green at #6 to CLE but they select a different WR at #6: => 9 points

You predict AJ Green at #6 to CLE but they trade that pick and the other team selects AJ Green: => 8 points

You predict AJ Green at #6 to CLE but he gets selected at #5 or #7(1 spot off)*: => 7 points

You predict AJ Green at #6 to CLE but he gets selected at #4 or #8(2 spots off)*: => 5 points

You predict AJ Green at #6 to CLE but he gets selected at #3 or #9(3 spots off)*: => 3 points

You predict AJ Green at #6 to CLE but he gets selected at #2 or #10(4 spots off)*: => 1 point

---------
*In the event of being 1, 2, 3 or 4 spots of with a prediction, it doesn´t matter which teams selects that certain player(only the slot is important here)
---------

You can start with your mocks right now!
Please just make one post here for you mock draft by using/copying the draft order from below and just adding the following information behind every slot/team:

#1 Carolina Panthers - Cam Newton,QB,Auburn(for example)

Some side notes: (important for the 9 point rule)

1) We do make a difference between different OL(tackle, guard and C),DL(DE and DT) and DB(CB and safety(no matter if FS or SS)) positions(as they´re going into the draft):

2) We do not make a difference between the different LB(LB=>MLB,OLB and ILB) positions!

3) We do make a difference between OLB and DE(allthough he now plays OLB, Brian Orakpo was drafted as a DE, which would mean him counting as a DE)

------------------------------------------

I know we don't have much time before the draft but this is for fun, so why not give it a try?

I'm almost embarrassed at how bad it is...except almost everyone's is bad, including the "experts". Crazy 1st round.

No one ever gets it right or really even close. NFL draft boards never look anything like we expect them to. Mock drafts are always an entertaining read, but their usefulness is...useless.
If you can't leave at least a 20% tip, you can't afford to eat out.
