This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

DJ TRADE

Postby Jintsfan66 » Sun Aug 26, 2018 1:26 pm

Fellas,

I have a competitive team that has taken some hits this year. Won 2 out of the last 3 championships but currently I have Ingram suspended, McCoy in limbo, Guice out for year and was fielding offers for DJ for some depth.

One offer I got was Hunt, Ware, McKinnon, Brieda for DJ. it helps my depth but not sold on either Mckinnon or Hunt. IS this a decent value offer? should i decline or accept?

Could use some thoughts

Hopkins, Evans, Nelson, Wallace, Wilson,
Engram, Rudolph, Eifert
2009, 2010, 2013, 2016 Champion, 2011 3rd Place, 2012 Runner-UP
10 Team, 17 man Roster, 4 Keepers, 1 PPR - 7th year

RB - McCaffrey, Barkley, Ford, Elliott
WR- Evans, Olave, Kirk, T. McLaurin, C. Sutton, D. Johnson, Bateman

DJ >= Hunt, Mckinnon closes that’s gap easily for me

I’d take Hunt/Mckinnon in a heartbeat
12 Team PPR
QB/2RB/3WR/TE/Flex
QB: Mahomes/Jones
RB: Mixon/Chubb/Mostert/Burkhead/McKinnon
WR: Wilson/JuJu/Marquise/Mooney/Campbell/Dotson/Osborn/Julio/Tolbert/Shakir/Metchie
TE: Andrews/Hurst

I think McKinnon's value is massively over inflated. If I felt I could trade him for value, I would do this. I like Hunt as an asset better but realize DJ is worth more atm.

I'd make this deal, I think Mckinnon is slightly overvalued but he's still a good bet to provide backend RB1 numbers this year. Hunt is also just 23 which better aligns with Guice's age to have 2 solid RB's for the next few years. If you don't believe in Mckinnon I'd package him and McCoy for a better RB like CMC or Mixon. Better to get out from under McCoy now before its too late.

PS I know its not what this thread is about but I'd look to move Nelson and Rudolph for a better younger WR as soon as Nelson has some solid Games.

Good advice man, I appreciate you taking the time

Had a few offers for Nelson but nothing exciting. What type of young WR can I get for Rudolph and Nelson?

I'd probably wait to target a trade for Nelson and Rudolph until a couple of games and people realize Nelson is the WR2 on that team and the redzone threat similar to crabtree was the last couple of years. Currently rudolph is going around Wr's like Goodwin(great value) and rookie Anthony miller whom I'd also be happy to get for Rudolph. I'm not quite sure how much Nelson will add to getting a WR in a better tier than that until we see him produce for the Raiders.

I am on the Hunt side. I love DJ but Hunt is a huge piece and to get McKinnon to close the gap is very nice. If you dont like him I would sell him. But I think he will be solid and you would have his handcuff. I would trade McCoy and nelson to see if you can get an upgraded WR.

Ok just making sure I had my information right before I gave a response.

I think you are winning getting Hunt and McKinnon back, but I would probably ignore the other two pieces and test how bad this person wants DJ. Ask 1 more decent piece besides the two absolute garbage throw ins (in my opinion garbage throw ins but I know other people feel different). Maybe this person has a WR2 or WR2/3 borderline they are willing to part with instead of Ware and Brieda. But even if they aren’t willing to, Hunt and McKinnon is enough in my book. And I do agree with the sentiment that there is a major drop from your WR2 to your WR3. If you can somehow leverage this trade to upgrade your WR3, even if you have to include Jordy to make it happen, I think you are winning.

I like it, I also think McKinnon is overvalued, but I feel like Hunt is as likely to be undervalued as over right now. Given your need for depth, I would take it.

Shopping around first is always good advice though.
