Thoughts on this PPR offer?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Thoughts on this PPR offer?

Postby Buckhill Bombers » Wed Jun 14, 2017 4:12 am

One of my worst teams happens to be my biggest money league (don't you hate when that happens) and I got this offer this morning.

Give: A. Jeffrey and 2018 1st
Get: McCaffrey and T. Coleman

Now I really like both RBs he's offered, and that's a position of desperate need...however, I fear I may be giving up a top 2 or 3 pick next year with this roster. My current roster is below:

Newton, Palmer, Taylor
Lacy, Latavius Murray, Jalen Richard, Ivory, Matt Jones, Alf Morris
Jeffrey, Corey Davis, Pryor, Kevin White, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Dorsett, Chris Godwin, Mitchell, Eli Rogers, Chris Hogan
Reed, M. Bennett

Right now I think I should keep my 1st despite really liking McCaffrey here. What do you guys think? And for anyone with potential counter ideas, this owner also has a few other young RBs like Jon Williams, Kamara, and Mack.

Or should I offer my 1st next year (keep Jeffrey) to land McCaffrey now?

Pass for me.

2018 1st for CMac doesn't bother me if you can do it, just pray it isn't 1.01. If there is a chance that it is I wouldn't risk it, as I think Saquan Barkley is the truth.

Pass. Not a fan of puny running backs. You miss out on Barkley next year and trade a young Wr1 for two shrimp backs. PPR is nice, but most running backs catch some passes to offset running that specialices I them. Touchdowns is what separates the men from the boys.

I disagree with that statement. Le'Veon Bell is arguably the best RB in the game and his total TDs each season have been 8, 11, 3, and 9. TDs are great but I would much rather have a steady flow of touches, especially in the passing game. CMC won't ever get to the Bell/Zeke/DJ status, but he can be an RB1 in a PPR for several years.

I would pass on the current offer. Alshon for McCaffrey could be something to entertain, especially since you're not an immediate contender. However, there's no way I would trade a possible top 3 pick (Barkley, Guice, Sutton) for Tevin Coleman, and that's coming from a Coleman fan.

Pass. You can get a good return from someone else for Alshon without needing to give up that 1st. I do think trading him is the right move for you, though.

I wouldn't do it. Counter with Jeffery and a 2nd, but that's the most I'd give up.

I wouldn't give up your '18 1st. It will surely be early unless your young WR all breakout. Which I would not be betting for. I would offer Alshon and Lacy, to see if he'd take that. If he doesn't take it, but thinks it is close, see what it'd take to get it done.

Alshon > CMC
2018 first on a bad team >>> Coleman

If that first is actually on that bad of a team, and a front runner for 1.1-1.3, then you're giving up the 2 best pieces in the deal

Told him my 1st is out of play. He offered McCaffrey for Jeffrey, but I told him I would need a bump as Jeffrey does have a higher (although slightly higher) ADP.

Would Jeffrey for McCaffrey and either Kamara, Jon Williams, or Riddick be enough to do the deal?

So I don't love CMC, so my answer is no (I also LOVE Alshon this year and think the time to trade him is in-season or after). But putting my personal evaluations aside, adding Kamara would be fair, not the other 2

I would pass simply because your team isn't going to contend and the high draft pick will only gain more value going into your next draft. I like Alshon, but can he stay healthy? Does he make you a contender this season?

I already have Jeffrey dblj119, so are you saying you would move him if I have him already?

I think I would trade Jeffrey for CMC and Kamara. You aren't competing this year or maybe even next year so take the two players with upside. Also, by getting rid of Jeffrey your first round pick next year may be better.

That's my two cents, I do agree you must keep your 1st rounder.
