Michael Crabtree Vs. Dez Bryant

Postby 49ersFaithful80 » Fri Jun 11, 2010 1:51 pm

As a niners fan I find it hard to vote against crabtree but I think Dez is more of a natural talent. But when asked who will have a better career it gets hazy. Immaturity issues with Dez have me questioning his work ethic. I'm gunna have to vote for Crabtree. I'm curious how the majority feel about this.

Bryant is being way overhyped at this point and Im starting to think its ALL because of how Crabtree is bein perceived...no rookie WR should be in the top 15 before stepping foot on the field....

"Dez Bryant is an absolute talent," Phillips said. "You don't get to be around many players that come in and look that good that early.

"It's been 33 years, and there aren't very many that I can say look that talented at their position for a three-day period."

I'm with Wade and have Dez Bryant already (yes Viccenzo) in my top 10 dynasty WR's. I am on record that he will make an immediate impact from week 1 and will be an elite WR for many years.

I wouldn't worry about the Niners QB situation too much.

How were Andre Johnson's QBs for his first couple of years in the league?

How about Fitz?

I think if the WR is truly that good, the QB situation will have a way of righting itself. If Alex Smith isn't the answer, someone else will be.

I'm taking Crab's.
Can't wait to see him with a full training camp/pre-season under his belt.

It's tough to vote for Dez when he hasn't stepped on the field yet.

Your right...the ez answer is Crabs, not necessarily the right one.

I wouldn't say it's easy considering Crabtree missed training camp and only played 11 games last year and was far from spectacular.

Phillips is really gonna say that type of stuff after 3 day rookie camp?
There not even in pads for crying out loud.

Good question and even tougher to answer.

I voted Crabtree just because  but I really like them both and there wasn't an option for both

College production, combine numbers, offseason ratings, opinions, etc. are all trumped by experience in the NFL. I do think Dez could have a very good career in front of him, but any projections are a foolhardy venture. We have seen what Crabtree can do and he has top 10 talent. Selecting Dez here would mean you would have to have confidence in him minimally being a top 10 without a single down played in the NFL.
If you can't leave at least a 20% tip, you can't afford to eat out.

Crabtree has played a few more games than Dez for sure, but we're talking about a very small sample size here. We still haven't seen a training camp from Crabtree or Dez yet. I don't see how we can give Crabtree a huge advantage here based on very little NFL experience, we're not even sure how much of the playbook Crabtree even learned last year.
