Fast and Furious-Brown vs. Marshall

Postby Dr.Graffin » Thu Jul 28, 2016 2:53 pm

http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/ant ... ar-BBuZzjJ

So B. Marshall challenged A. Brown on who would gain the most receiving yards this year. The winner takes the other's car, although Marshall has a Porsche on the line while he wants Brown's Rolls Royce (which is worth quite a bit more).

This fun stuff aside, any reasonable chance Marshall could win this competition, or is he just giving away his car?

Only way Marshall wins is with an injury to AB.

Yes, Marshall could very well win. I like the Porsche better...

can't imagine herr goodell would sign off on a wild prop bet like this ,looking for a sternly worded edict from his bunker that condemns this or anything like it at any moment.

Supposedly Marshall has slimmed down and has gotten to the fastest he's ever been. I think Marshall has a shot to win, he is the underdog for sure. However last year when Brown played the two games without Bell and M. Bryant his stats were 18/328/2. So i think he will be peppered with Targets. I already thought that he had a shot of getting 2000 yards once Bryant was suspended as long as Big Ben can stay Healthy. Now with no Bell for 4 games. WOW! Not to mention that Brown also got faster and is supposedly running 4.3's

Unless something crazy happens to Brown/Big Ben, there is very little chance Marshall beats Brown in any statistical category. Marshall has never had over 1,510 yards in his career, Fitzpatrick is not a QB that is going to "air it out", and Marshall is going to fight father time this year. 32 is the age a WR starts to really fall off. You would have to give me some pretty nice odds for me to bet on Marshall winning this challenge.

Marshall had more TD's than Brown, and has had more TD's than Brown 5 out of the last 6 seasons. So that murders your "in any stat category".

In fact, id like to take that bet in real life if you are up to it. Marshall beats brown in at least 1 category.

However i agree with the rest of this. I dont think he Beats out brown in total yardage.

That's not really fair considering Brown didn't really take over as the starter until 3 years ago... If we look at those TD numbers, it is closer but Marshall still wins. Brown did have more TD's 2 years ago 13/8, but Marshall is a bigger receiver and he will always have the upper hand in that category.

I will admit....... I forgot about his TDs, though, so good call out. I would bet you in real life on everything except TDs 8-)

If they were on the same team I think Marshall might have an advantage. But with Decker in the mix I don't think he's likely to win.
