Fantrax?
I'm currently using espn and at first glance the the free fantrax seems legit. Any fantrax users in the house and what are the pros and cons?

Re: Fantrax?
Hard to explain, but to me it is "clunky" if that makes sense. For example MFL and CBS are very easy to maneuver and find what you are looking for. Fantrax just isn't as smooth to me. Maybe I am just more comfortable with the other sites.EveryKnee wrote:Can I ask what it is you don't like?flyersfan1981 wrote:I am on it in one league and I personally hate it.EveryKnee wrote:I'm currently using espn and at first glance the the free fantrax seems legit. Re: Fantrax?
All 4 of my current leagues are on Fantrax. I find it very easy to maneuver and get access to the latest individual player news without having to check other sources (they're often using Rotoworld blurbs for the "analysis" though, so it can be somewhat misleading sometimes). But then again, I'm using that site since 2012 and only once tried another league on MFL, and never really got comfortable with that. So I might just be used to it.

Thanks for the responses! The more I use it the more I like it, and I really like the thought of not having to manually track traded picks. I think I'm going to make the switch.

Re: Fantrax?
For a free site it seems pretty good to me. I've never tried CBS but NFL and ESPN aren't set up very well for dynasty leagues.

Re: Fantrax?
We use the paid version for a salary cap league and I think it's wonderful. I enjoy the interface. And it's super easy to set up.
The above poster mentioned MFL and for what you want (extra ability to easily track things like trades) MFL may be overkill. The thing with MFL is that it's only as good as the commish sets it up to be (aside from some things you can always get in the top menu). I think fantrax is on par for ease of use with a good MFL layout. It's better than the default MFL skins. And it's worse than MFL sites with a dedicated commish who puts a lot of time into setting it up. But it sounds like for what you mostly care about I think the free fantrax option is a good choice.

Re: Fantrax?
Double check because maybe it changed...but the free version doesn't support keeping track of draft picks (or trading them). I commished a (free) fantrax league for a few years and we had to manually keep track of picks in the forum. Paid version allows you to trade and keep track of picks.
Other than that, it's a solid free fantasy league hosting site. It's better than ESPN in my opinion. I also don't think it's clunky personally, but at the same time, it's not very customizable as far as the appearance. I would recommend Fantrax (and have in the past) if someone is looking for a good free league host.
