All the draft pundits talk about the style of offense that a rookie prospect's college team plays:
Pro-style
Spread
Hi-breed
Does anyone have a list of what colleges play what?
And for the skills positions, does it matter (seems to in QB and WR, maybe not so much in RB and TE)?
What offenses do college teams play?

Re: What offenses do college teams play?
it matters for all skill positions. traditionally, in a prostyle TE's are heavy blockers, and run shorter curls, or 5-7 yard outs/slants... seam routes... in a spread they are mostly Htype backs...The Pyrate wrote:All the draft pundits talk about the style of offense that a rookie prospect's college team plays:

as for RBs it is also extremely different. in a spread or alternate version the running lanes are different, so the types of cuts are different. most spread teams run zone schemes, and the running lanes are generally lateral.. most draft scouts want to see running backs that are able to cut vertical, and move upfield/forward... that type of cut is very hard to determine from watching film in a spread offense... thats generally why alot of people were very hesitant to rank mendy very high, because he came from a spread attack.
i know for sure that GA, ALB, TENN, Miami, Notre dame, USC, Ohio state, stanford, were traditional prostyle offenses... tennessee's might have changed recently, as well as ohio states...
