AJB v Nabers
AJB v Nabers
AJB or Nabers and what is the difference?
I'm a contending team with Brown. I really like Nabers despite landing in NY. His appeal isn't quite what it was pre-draft, but I've been trying to find a way to snag him. It hasn't happened. Making Brown part of the deal might be my only way. I feel like losing AJB and adding Nabers probably hurts my bottom line over the next two years though.
How does everyone feel about these two and what it might do to my weekly total? Team in sig

It’s likely to hurt you this season but I’d gamble on the upside of Nabers. You have the WR depth to take the gamble, if it can even be considered a gamble

Curious how you would project stats/fantasy points for the two over the next couple of years?

Re: AJB v Nabers
Over the past two years in Philly, Brown has averaged 164 targets / 97 / 1,476 / 9.
There's no realistic reason to think that he won't continue a similar pace for the next two years.
There's no realistic reason to think that Nabers will do that in the next two years. And that kind of stat line is probably his (or just about any WR's) ceiling.
In a rebuild, I could argue for Nabers over AJB. On a competitive team, taking Nabers over AJB doesn't make any sense to me.

Re: AJB v Nabers
If you drafted Nabers you are keeping him. If you have AJB you could need to be rebuilding to trade him for Nabers straight up. If you couldn’t find away to trade up in the draft to pick Nabers, then you didn’t want him bad enough.

I think 97 rec / 151.5 trg / 1,476 yds / 9 td is definitely doable by year 2 for Nabers.moishetreats wrote: ↑Sat May 11, 2024 9:01 pm Over the past two years in Philly, Brown has averaged 164 targets / 97 / 1,476 / 9.

Re: AJB v Nabers
2024 AJB isn’t going to put up 2022-23 AJB numbers. I’d expect yardage to come down. 2024 Nabers also looks different from future Nabers, in that his numbers will look inflated via target volume - probably a WR2/3. By year two I like both players for close to 100/1200/8
Re: AJB v Nabers
What about year 2 Nabers or NYG QB situation makes you think he'll see 100/1200/8?SoftwoodGrampian wrote: ↑Sun May 12, 2024 5:54 am2024 AJB isn’t going to put up 2022-23 AJB numbers. '24 projections I'm seeing have him between 65-75/900-950/5. That would be a disappointment and mean he'd need to take a big jump in '25 to reach those year two numbers.
Re: AJB v Nabers
I agree with most that Nabers for rebuild and AJB for compete now. Difference in price is not much otherwise. Giants QB situation is icky and next year there's no slam dunks for QB prospects yet
