AJ Brown for London and 1.08? (Completed trade)

Postby WOATjohn » Tue Apr 02, 2024 3:06 am

1QB entire rebuild
I took over an orphan that is pretty depleted. It has AJ brown, QJ, Mahomes, Stroud and maybe mention Musgrave. M
It needs a lot of work.

I currently have the 1.02 and 1.03 so I will be taking 2 of the 3 too 3 WRs as of today.
Someone offered me his London and 1.08 for my AJ Brown and 3.03.

It sounds like a good deal for me on paper as London is 4 years younger and rising and the 1.08 could be either traded or draft BPA.

Update:
I ended up getting the 4.08 back in return 😂
I got nervous because I countered without my 3.03 but he declined but he accepted when I threw in the 4.08

Meh. I don't hate it but I don't love it either. I'd shop AJB and see if I could beat this deal.

Last night I made a bunch of offers for young guys that I like, which is why I got this counter.
AJB for a Dell package declined
For a G Wilson package declined

I still have initial offers out for a JSN package and Kincaid package.

If AJB has a typical AJB year, you could *probably* get more in-season. Even if that happens, you're unlikely to get a LOT more. So while I agree this isn't a no-brainer smash-accept, I'm happily taking it. Holding offers you small chance at a slightly better offer and also a bigger chance at a much worse one. I wouldn't accept a potentially big loss on the hopes of an unlikely small gain.

I agree with this but I can see it two different ways.
1. AJ brown is already at his peak value and can only lose value as he’s about to turn 27 AND this rookie receiver group is supposed to be great so there’s a chance he could have Nabers and/or Odunze leap him in value.
2. Keep brown as a building piece along with my 1.02 and 1.03 picks. I do think London has a lot of potential to be a great building piece as well.

I just think trading Brown is what I should do with this terribly depleted team. I am not competing for at least 2 years and he will be nearly 30 by then

It's a fair deal. I wish that 1.08 was just a bit higher, but if you are looking to move AJB this is a decent pivot.

If you’re gutting it I think this is a solid deal. I’d probably just take it as is rather than wait, but I also like London quite a bit.

I really want to get 2 for 1 if I trade AJB so I was shooting for the moon to gauge how he felt about Wilson. I offered AJB for Wilson and 1.09. He also has Dell but said he’s not interesting in trading youth for AJB.
