Best ball, 12 team, SF, PPR, 1 TEP, devy
Start 11 - QB, 2RB, 2WR, TE, 4 WRT, SF
41 rounds and I don't want to type out all the guys, but it's best ball... there are players behind these.
QB: Purdy, Mayfield, JJ McCarthy, Darnold, depth
RB: Hall, Gibbs, Achane, Johnathan Brooks Kendre Miller, Keaton Mitchell, Jaleel McLaughlin, Vaki
WR: London, Reed, Godwin, Odunze, Xavier Legette, AD Mitchell, Jeudy, Wicks, , Malik Washington, Wan'dale
TE: Henry, Dulcich, Fant, Parkinson, and lots more. I hit this hard late.
Devy: Evan Stewart, Ashton Jeanty, and have my devy and 2 other devy picks in 25
I did not go in with a plan (plans change) and just let the draft come to me mostly. So now that this is the result, what do you think I should do if anything? Is there a direction to head? Compete now? Sell some assets for next year? Open to thoughts.
Startup completed - Team direction? What moves to make?

Re: Startup completed - Team direction? What moves to make?
Seeing how this is a deep draft for WRs, I'd say you were wise to make WR (and TE) your weakest positions. Should be able to improve those positions with those draft picks. Looks pretty solid to me!

Re: Startup completed - Team direction? What moves to make?
I definitely did have this in the back of my mind as we started drafting before the combine. So I knew I could get some options there.Buckhill Bombers wrote: ↑Tue Mar 19, 2024 5:08 pm Seeing how this is a deep draft for WRs, I'd say you were wise to make WR (and TE) your weakest positions. Mostly, I just decided to not panic and not overdraft when runs happened in front of me. That happened obviously in the 1st with QB, as I was at 1.10. Traded back in the second (picked up a 5th and a future devy 1) as I saw a large tier, and got Gibbs. Breece was somehow still there at 3.3.
There were a few runs on TEs too just prior to my pick that forced me a different direction. Since it’s best ball I just went with quantity later to help solve TE.
Since it’s startup devy, I should be able to get some players that will help next year.

I don't think this team can compete. I also think your build clashes with my own philosophy haha, so am probably down on it for my own reasons. But to me, you essentially have 1QB I believe in, 2 RBs, 2WR, and no TE. I'd be doing everything I could to secure an elite QB1 to pair with Goff (upgrade on Mayfield). I'd also be aggressive in an upgrade at TE and WR3. Potentially using 1.8 with a lesser player to trade for a sure thing. 1.7 can probably fix one of the holes depending on who is there between Odunze and Bowers.

It isn’t the usual way I like to build a team either. I had the 10 slot and 9 QBs went first. Just opted to go with the flow and not chase. But I do not have an issue with Purdy or Baker.
As with how people drafted, getting “an elite” QB will just be prohibitively expensive. I don’t own Goff. This is also best ball - have to keep in mind sending multiple pieces for 1.

Draft has begun. Added Odunze and JJM. Edited the roster in the initial post.

Agreed, this roster looks terrible and the fact that OP didn't have a plan is kind of evident.Menace2010 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 20, 2024 3:30 pm I don't think this team can compete. Traded 25 1st (will be devy depleted) for 2.1 and took Johnathon Brooks.

Deal 1, I can see dropping from JJ to Lamb. Deal 2, I cannot see dropping from Lamb to London, and you add another RB, which was already your strongest position. I dislike the build more today than I did before. Though you definitely landed some talent in the rookie draft...

1. This is best ball.
2. We start 2 RBs and 4 RWT. It's conceivable that my top 5 RBs hit my lineup in a week. Easily my top 4.
