Jared Cook or Kyle Rudolph

Postby bmeintz » Thu Feb 09, 2012 7:20 pm

Team in sig. I need a future TE to replace Witten and both Cook and Rudolph are FAs in my league. I think I can have my choice of the 2 on the cheap. Which way should I go.

Both have high upside so this is a good comparison, Cook has played more so you can't compare statistics. From what I have followed on the boards here, Rudolph is a solid sleeper at TE and will get to show his skills next season as Shiancoe is set to be a free agent! Cook has dissppeared at times or was it the offense itself! One thing I think to look forward to with Cook...Britt will be back to open things up, it can only help!
If I had to choose, I would take Rudolph...

It's tough to tell right now. I own Cook so I followed him more closely. His production certainly went up with Locker at QB but the big games weren't that impressive. I saw a lot of plays where he had a free release off the line and an basically took a wide open 5 yard pass another 10-15 yards while defenses played not to lose. The size and athleticism are there but I'm not overly excited about a few games.

Rudolph's skill level is certainly on par with the best in the game and he should get his shot this year. I guess I'd lean towards him.

Funny you should ask - see team in sig!

This is a good question and I'm not sure there is a clear answer to it. Cook has largely been disappointing but has flashed just enough to keep people waiting for more. We've of course seen very little from Rudolph at this point. For my money, Cook has more upside and is playing on a better team with better pieces around him. However, unless Cook breaks in to the top-10 of TEs this year, I'm done with him. The Titans have tried to make him successful and relevant but he has struggled. This is his last shot for me (and maybe them). As the prior post mentions: keep an eye on his stats with Locker vs. Hasselbeck. That will tell us a lot this year.

Rudolph for me... wihout question. Loved J.Cook as a sleeper coming out, but he's still a sleep. Rudolph was more then a sleeper coming out.

I agree...and Shank will probably be gone this off season. I see Gronk looking at Rudolph

good idea. I guess I prefer Cook yet, but hard to deny Rudolph has huge upside as well.

That's a tough one. I think I lean Cook and his team over Rudolph, but honestly would love to have both.
