At worst he's a high end backup for many years.

Re: Sam Howell
Considering Washington’s draft position he is getting at least one more year to show if he’s the future

Re: Sam Howell
I mean long term. I don't doubt he will. I think he's shown the ability to be a top 40 QB for years, regardless on if he regresses.StripesOfKC wrote: ↑Sun Nov 12, 2023 8:55 pmConsidering Washington’s draft position he is getting at least one more year to show if he’s the future

Not sure if this is a joke, a dig, or some weird statement of relevancy.FantasyFreak wrote: ↑Sun Nov 12, 2023 9:05 pm I think he's shown the ability to be a top 40 QB for years

Re: Sam Howell
Not a joke at all. What I'm saying is, he's going to be at worst, one of the better backup QB's in the league for many years, and I think he gets another year to start in Washington next year, unless they lose almost every game, and get enamoured with a QB in the draft.JJRules wrote: ↑Thu Nov 16, 2023 10:11 amNot sure if this is a joke, a dig, or some weird statement of relevancy.FantasyFreak wrote: ↑Sun Nov 12, 2023 9:05 pm I think he's shown the ability to be a top 40 QB for years

Howell (+ '24 2nd) was traded in one of my leagues this morning for Chris Olave

I think he's a sell if Eric Bienemy leaves.
Re: Sam Howell
Is this more faith in Howell or losing faith in Olave? Maybe both?Prison_Mike wrote: ↑Fri Nov 17, 2023 8:05 am Howell (+ '24 2nd) was traded in one of my leagues this morning for Chris Olave
Agreed I don’t like the situation of EB leaves/doesn’t get the HC job. I think he’s still solid but losing a good coordinator would make me look at options to sell.
Edit: he’s getting some help from lots of volume on volume related stats, but he is also something like 7th in PFF’s big time throw percentage. He’s leading in quantity.

In 2 years, the Olave owner is going to be laughingPrison_Mike wrote: ↑Fri Nov 17, 2023 8:05 am Howell (+ '24 2nd) was traded in one of my leagues this morning for Chris Olave
Re: Sam Howell
Heard someone referencing his HS stats and thought I misheard them. Looked it up:
The weird thing about him to me is his rushing, since it looks odd and seems like it wouldn’t work. As a junior in HS he had almost 1600 yards rushing and 24 TDs. Almost 1400 and 17 TDs as a senior.
He started all 4 years in HS and his dad is a coach. So he has a load of starting snaps between starting as a freshman in college too.

35+ TDs passing each year.Howell totaled 13,415 passing yards, 145 passing touchdowns, 3,621 rushing yards and 60 rushing touchdowns in his high school career. His high school career mark of 17,036 total yards are the most all time in North Carolina high school history

Re: Sam Howell
Biggest sell. Outplayed by Devito, still has the Juatin Fields, deer in the headlights issue. Can't take this many sacks and be starter.. Sell him, while people who only think about FF points look at him as an asset. This organization is about to go into overhaul, and he's guaranteed nothing.

Re: Sam Howell
I'm not sure what to make of him - some games/throws are great, at other times there are brutal decisions and some bad INT's. That said. he's is gritty, and I think we need to remember it's really his first year in the league (1 game vs Dallas last year). Other young QBs seem to get longer leashes on these threads, so just keeping the age and development in mind. Much rather take a chance on him over Pickett or Jones!

Re: Sam Howell
It seems like if he just got the ball out a little quicker he’d take less sacks and be a better real life qb.
