Tyler Boyd

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Tyler Boyd

Postby dvpkwys » Sat Jun 17, 2023 3:41 pm

I have had Boyd for a few years now, but also own Higgins. I need to make some room and I literally can't get one guy in my league to take him for even a 4th rounder! If/when I drop him someone will grab him. I just got Tillman/Reed last night in my draft so feel good about some young depth. Seeing as I can't get anything and need to make room, is he droppable? NON PPR.

x2 - I don't think you will miss Boyd but he is a much better asset than Ross.

I actually picked up Boyd in one of leagues recently after he was dropped. Though I don't think I'd have traded for him had his owner offered him for a third (we have a 3 round rookie draft).

He's a very solid player, who's one injury away from an incredible fanasty situation. But due to his age he doesn't feel likely to ever be a true needle mover off his own merits.

I get wanting to hold Ross. His value could sky rocket and even with an injury in front of him Boyd will not have a market. He is older than most realize. I don’t see him getting a lot of attention next contract. He might fill in for you but it’s tough to hold a guy with such a low ceiling. It’s easier to just see what Ross shows. I mean, you will be wanting to waive someone at some point anyway and if Ross is a dud you can drop him then.

I’d still try to get a handcuff with Boyd or even a 2024 4th or 5th

By the way people may not be interested if he is on the block but if you send an offer to every team for a 2025 4th someone usually accepts

Thats my thinking. Ross could rocket up in value if he starts to play, if not he's an easy drop before the season or early in the season. Younger with upside, where Boyd is just ho-hum, will be 29 and does what he does.
