Interesting Jakobi Meyers stats

“The single best buy of the offseason and the single best buy today is the same player.

Coming into this year, his age 25 season, this player averaged a 26+% target rate and 30+% air yard share across his previous two season.

This player was a top 5 separator vs. man coverage in the NFL in 2021.

This player is the inheritor of a legacy role in his offense and is that offense's clear top target.

As of week 3 of this season, 43 receivers had ran 900+ routes in the NFL since 2020. Over that time there were only 5 with both higher target rates and yards per route run than this player. * 3rd in TPRR
* 6th in air yard share
* 2nd in YPRR
* 1st in YPTA
* 8th in PPG

and is still WR55 in market value, just below a '23 mid 2nd.

It goes to show that while some names do not hold the market value and huge games are not common, you can find great depth/flex plays for an affordable price if you do resource and get away from the "rankings" approach.

I saw this exact article elsewhere. It caught my attention and made me rethink my valuation of Meyers. He laid out a persuasive argument. I intended to dig deeper into the stats myself, but don't think I ever got around to it.

Free Agent in a very weak class this year too. Might see a Christian Kirk kind of value rise this offseason if he signs in the right place.
