George Pickens, where did we go wrong?

Diontae is cleared to play. I guess you could do a what if, but its not happening at this point.

Tribusky has been super inaccurate but Pickens has been heavily involved. Targeted down the field and on the sideline on two key plays but throws were uncatchable. He was also targeted in the end zone and drew a dpi. Pickens big issue is going to be QB play unless Pickett comes in and plays well

Holmes - 2 targets
M. Wallace - 3 targets
Wheaton - 13% of snaps
Claypool - 30% of snaps
Bryant - 34% of snaps
Diontae - 36% of snaps

in their respective NFL debuts.

I think Pickens has a path to relevance this season, but Game 1 isn't going to tell you much about that.

He had a lot of good almost plays. Drew a PI un the EZ and made some good plays on poorly thrown balls. He'll finish the year strong I bet.

He has a 53.7 PFF grade too so not exactly much going on under the radar

If you really want to avoid risk/get ahead of the curve on selling faceplanters it's getting close to that time

By week 6 or so if he hasn't done anything you won't get preseason return

With my one share I'm not actively shopping him but if someone sends a good offer at preseason value I'd consider it

I've been seeing All-22 clips floating around, and all I'll say is that you shouldn't sell Pickens, or any of the Steelers offense. Trubisky is leaving a lot of food on the plate. Pickens is open, hell a bunch of players are.

Even someone like Diontae Johnson, who's averaging 11 targets per game, is being propped up purely by volume. 5.1 Y/Target.

I don't know how much Pickett improves it, but he can't be worse than 6th year QB who can't get past his 1st read.

Diontae/Claypool/Freiermuth ahead and in pecking order. Mitch at QB doesn’t help either. Needs an injury for relevancy this year. Maybe QB change to Pickett may help.
