WR Question: Gap between Adams and Diontae

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

WR Question: Gap between Adams and Diontae

Postby DaHoodie83 » Fri Jul 22, 2022 1:49 pm

For Team 1 in my signature below, I’m thinking about trading Diontae Johnson in a package to get Davante Adams. The other team is looking for a 2023 pick added to Johnson. Would a 2023 2nd be enough? Is a 2023 1st way too much?
Team 1: 12 Team, 0.5 PPR, Start 1 QB, 2 RBs, 3 WRs, 1 TE, 1 FLEX (RB/WR/TE) - 2020 Champ
QB: Patrick Mahomes, Brock Purdy
RB: Austin Ekeler, Derrick Henry, Tony Pollard, James Conner
WR: Davante Adams, Cooper Kupp, Keenan Allen, Tank Dell, Tyler Lockett, Marvin Mims, Michael Wilson
TE: Travis Kelce, Dalton Schultz, Isaiah Likely

Team 2: 12 Team, 0.5 PPR, Start 1 QB, 2 RBs, 3 WRs, 1 TE, 2 FLEX (RB/WR/TE)
QB: Brock Purdy, Matthew Stafford
RB: Breece Hall, Rachaad White, Joe Mixon, Keaton Mitchell
WR: Justin Jefferson, Courtland Sutton, Jameson Williams, Mike Williams, Roman Wilson
TE: George Kittle, Dallas Goedert

Team 3: 12 Team, PPR, TE Premium, Start 1 QB, 2 RBs, 3 WRs, 1 TE, 2 FLEX (RB/WR/TE) - 2023 Champ
QB: Jalen Hurts, Brock Purdy
RB: Isiah Pacheco, Kenneth Walker III, Gus Edwards, Ty Chandler, JK Dobbins
WR: AJ Brown, Chris Godwin, Courtland Sutton, Dontayvion Wicks, Khalil Shakir, Ja’Lynn Polk
TE: Dallas Goedert, Chig Okonkwo

I think Adams is the much better player if you are looking for a title run but his age drops his value a bit. I also like Adams with Carr more than Johnson with whoever. If you can get him for a 2nd added, I think it is a good price. There is a shot again based on age but I would not put up a 1st if the 2nd is not enough.

If you chance on a guy who is scared of Adams' new situation, he might bite on Diontae + 2nd. But in the other 99% of situations, you should probably add a contender's first.

I would try Sutton and 1st before selling Diontae.

Gator nailed it. Going all-in for a title, then it’s worth it since your first is probably going to be late, barring catastrophe. But Diontae is a nice young player. But if you dump the kid, you better be SURE you’re the favorite, lol…
