Christian Kirk, the 3rd highest paid WR in the league
Christian Kirk, the 3rd highest paid WR in the league
What in the world is JAX doing?
Ruin a #1 QB speed run?
Ruin a #1 QB speed run?
Re: Christian Kirk, the 3rd highest paid WR in the league
That's a lot of bling for Christian Kirk. Good for him. It doesn't feel like a great used of money for the Jags.
Not all that counts can be counted. Not all that can be counted counts.
Re: Christian Kirk, the 3rd highest paid WR in the league
Looks like the base deal is closer to 18 a year, but incentives can push it up to 21. Still, that's a lot for a guy who has never had a 1k yard season. I know that I wouldn't be happy with it. Probably would have gone after Juju for cheaper if it were me.

Haven't seen this yet but Kirk has been woefully undervalued IMO. Not sure he is worth that type of coin though.

That's an awful contract for the Jags. Just terrible. I want nothing to do with this team, in FF.

Re: Christian Kirk, the 3rd highest paid WR in the league
Curious what Gallup's new contract will be. It was rumored the off-season that Kirk would get at least 2 more mil annually than Gallup....
Kirk's contract seems massive for the type of player he is.

Re: Christian Kirk, the 3rd highest paid WR in the league
I think it's funny people think Kirk is resetting the market. Everybody knows the Jags massively over paid him. Can't see other teams paying up that much for that type of talent. What a poorly run franchise they are.

I agree. Some of Baalke's finest work there.FantasyFreak wrote: ↑Mon Mar 14, 2022 1:03 pmI think it's funny people think Kirk is resetting the market. Not sure it is awful but it is eye opening.FantasyFreak wrote: ↑Mon Mar 14, 2022 12:58 pm That's an awful contract for the Jags. Just terrible. I want nothing to do with this team, in FF.
77 receptions on 103 targets for 982 is really good. He was a #2 playing like a #1 last season IMO. He was really breaking out last year. It is a lot of money from the sound of it but he does give Lawrence a legit target with solid route acumen. He led the Cards in receiving last year starting only 11 games.
It will ultimately be about the guaranteed weighed against how he performs this season. He is 25.

5 years 62.5 million 10 million signing with 27 million guaranteed. Pretty good deal coming off ACL but he can really play.halfbaked88 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 14, 2022 1:02 pm Curious what Gallup's new contract will be. Re: Christian Kirk, the 3rd highest paid WR in the league
As a Shenault owner....poo. As a NFL fan...wtf?! Good for Kirk, but what is JAX doing? Kirk's numbers are slightly inflated by the air raid offense and now he's going to a rebuilding offense. If JAX uses him correctly he could be another Brandin Cooks. Fantasy wise I'd take that return I guess. I've talked myself down from the ledge now. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

Not sure what his playing time was on a per game basis, but he played in every game with his targets fairly even distributed from early season to late season.Ice wrote: ↑Mon Mar 14, 2022 1:20 pmNot sure it is awful but it is eye opening.FantasyFreak wrote: ↑Mon Mar 14, 2022 12:58 pm That's an awful contract for the Jags. He does look like a decent WR, but only found success last year in the slot. He looks like a field stretcher, is that a good fit with Trevor Lawrence?
