Favorite All Time Fantasy Football Player and Why?
Re: Favorite All Time Fantasy Football Player and Why?
My all time favorite fantasy player is Jimmy Graham.
His prime years with the Saints were absolute difference makers that carried me to more than one championship. He also helped change my mind about the TE position in fantasy - and it’s one I now view as a difference maker.
And while I’ve only been in dynasty for two years now, I have to say Justin Jefferson is quickly becoming my favorite. Snagged him with the 1.11 in my first ever dynasty rookie draft - and I only got him because the guy with pick 1.10 took who I really wanted - Jalen Reagor. Couldn’t be happier that he did!

My first year of FF I drafted Brett Favre, big Packer fan. Later in drafted rookie qb, Dante Culpepper. Much to my surprise sat Favre other than bye week

Fun thread. Lots of similar themes (studs winning titles, rookie/free agent/ww diamond-in-the-rough).
I've always been a proponent of the positional advantage of the stud TE so my list includes Shannon Sharpe, Tony Gonzalez, Antonio Gates, Jimmy Graham, Gronk. Another fun one was Marques Colston's rookie season and had TE eligibility
Diamonds-in-the-rough
Terrell Davis - I remember watching the Broncos-49ers preseason game in Japan when Terrell Davis lit up Tyrone Drakeford on a kickoff return. Followed him through the pre-season and we know how he turned into the dominant RB of that time.
Kurt Warner - 1999 Rams
Antonio Gates
Arian Foster
Flash-in-the pan league winners
Matt Asiata - 2014
Tim Hightower - 2015
But my favourite FF player would have to be Moe Williams (RB-MIN). Journeyman JAG but he had a stretch in 2002 where he was fantasy relevant. I picked him up as a free agent after a big game early in the season. My buddy laughed that I had him in my starting lineup but he just kept producing. We nicknamed him 'Garbage Time' because he wouldn't impact the game in any way but managed to put up fantasy points. Fun times.

Lev Bell, is up there for me. Going into his 2nd season, I secretly had him ranked as my RB1 overall in dynasty. His ranking in the community did not reflect that type of value, so I drafted him in startups later than I felt he should be going. He didn't disappoint me, going bonkers that 2nd season.

If there was a "most hated fantasy football player" thread Bell would be mine. He cost me back to back championships with his holdout. Not only did I NOT have Bell all year, the guy who ended up winning it had James Connor. Mix in a few suspensions here and there, and you can have that diva.FantasyFreak wrote: ↑Fri Aug 13, 2021 1:24 pm Lev Bell, is up there for me. Re: Favorite All Time Fantasy Football Player and Why?
Jimmy Graham, but only because he was my best call ever in my redraft league.
Really liked what I saw out of him and the saints offense in 2010 so in 2011 when I missed out on the top TEs I vowed to wait and just be the last person to take one. Graham fell into my lap and his monster year combined with him being one of my last picks lead me to the championship for the first time.

Yeah, timing is key here. I got him going into year 2, relatively cheap and moved him before all that.Walter W. wrote: ↑Fri Aug 13, 2021 1:48 pmIf there was a "most hated fantasy football player" thread Bell would be mine. Agreed. I moved Bell on a total rebuild/orphan for CMC+ before all the holdout. Has helped that team mightilyFantasyFreak wrote: ↑Fri Aug 13, 2021 4:35 pmYeah, timing is key here. Mike Evans. I love when people don't take him as a threat, then he drops 35 on them and ends their season.
It happened to me once, so I decided to never sleep on him again. Hes been a staple of my winning teams.

My favorite was Anquan - all of my best teams had him as a centerpiece while he was in his prime. For his 14 yr career, he averaged something like 76/982/6...or pretty close to Dionte Johnson's 2020 season.
I also remember when he was a QB at FSU and followed him in college and into the pros.
