Sources tell NFL Network #Packers QB Aaron Rodgers will not return to the team unless Jordan Love is traded. Rodgers & Love had a "tense" relationship in 2020, whenever Love would miss a throw in practice, Rodgers would quip, "change your last name to Jordan LoveBeingABadQB".

I don't see how we can say that with any kind of confidence.

Have any of Rodgers' WRs ever had ANY success without Rodgers? We don't really know how many of his productive WRs were productive just because they were "Aaron Rodgers' #1 WR" or "Aaron Rodgers' slot WR" versus them actually being good players.

Jennings, Jones, Cobb, Nelson, etc. They were all completely awful when they played without Rodgers. Adams is the only one with a productive season without Rodgers and that season was still a very mediocre season.

I think that is different than something like your example of the Chiefs, where guys like Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce were pro bowl players with Alex Smith as their QB. We know they are actually great players and not just targets of Pat Mahomes, because they were good without Mahomes too.

Granted some of those GB guys were older when they moved on (particularly Jordy), but all of Jennings/Cobb/Jones were still in their 20's, and they were all useless with a different QB.

Compare that to Tyreek and Kelce, who I believe in 2017 alone with Alex Smith as their quarterback BOTH of them put up better seasons than ANY receiver Aaron Rodgers has ever played with has put up with a QB other than Rodgers. Someone can check my math on that.

You mean an old, injured washed up Jordy with the Raiders wasn't putting up great numbers?

Tell me it ain't so

Nelson got 1500 effing yards lmao. He was good. No one who gets 1500 yards is "not good"

Greg Jennings came up a tick under 1300--no one does that without being good. Hell his best season was with Rodgers his first year starting (when Rodgers was far from elite)

Randall Cobb was taken apart by injury over his time in Green Bay but improved substantially his one year in Dallas compared to his last several seasons in GB

James Jones is the only one you could begin to make that case for but even then--he was pretty good his one year in Oakland just as he was pretty good in GB

Not elite not a number 1 receiver--just pretty good

I can't imagine worshipping a QB enough to think 1500 receiving yards means you aren't good

I guess Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne aren't good either?

Yeah, this is just not an accurate take. They were all past their peak performance levels, some more than others, but completely awful is taking it far too far.

Relative to his price level of course (on Juju)

And Jennings did it as a WR1 dominating the teams passing offense

Still though should emphasize Juju sucks relatively to how good he thinks he is and how much this community laughably hyped up this JAG

Obviously he is still an NFL caliber player and a solidly starting WR

I guess maybe "completely awful" is hyperbole, but what is a 600-800 yard receiver worth in the NFL this decade? That's what guys like Russell Gage and Tim Patrick put up. There are an unlimited number of guys that do that and, consequently, may or may not have been as good as any of those guys if they'd played with Rodgers.

Jordy was 33 when he left, I'll give you that. Kind of a wash there.

Cobb was 28 and Jennings/Jones were 29 when they left so still plenty of meat on the bone there. They were basically the same age that DeAndre Hopkins is now.

Jones is really interesting because he had a horribly inefficient season in Oakland with an abysmal 5.9ypt, then came back to Green Bay even another year older and picked up right where he had left off with Rodgers, spiking that number up to 9ypt.

The league has a never ending supply of guys that can put up 600-800 yards without an elite QB. I am not really convinced that someone like Greg Jennings, who was a 600-800 yard WR without Rodgers, was really ever much better than guys like DaVante Parker, Russell Gage, Michael Gallup, etc are.

Tim Patrick put up as good of a season last year with Drew Lock as his QB as any of Jennings, Cobb, or James Jones have put up without Rodgers.

Jennings went to Minnesota and had Matt Cassel, Christian Ponder, Josh Freeman as QB's that year. Hard to put that on him.
Cobb had more yards recieving his first year in Dallas than all but one of his 8 seasons in GB.

Sure Rodgers makes you better, but these where quality NFL WR's
