Re: What DON'T you want to see happen in tonight's draft?
Pace and Nagy are more than likely on the hot seat. If they move up and grab a QB they can make the argument that they need another year to develop their pick. I don't know...if Fields is there around pick 10 and it doesn't break the bank...I think it could be a decent move.Payton34 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 29, 2021 9:27 amSeconded that I would like the Bears to stay put and not mortgage any more future for a QB here. We are literally in the situation we are now because of doing EXACTLY that. Play it straight, if we suck like we know we can, we should have a pretty good pick next year (Like when we had #3 overall, which should have just been Watson, rather than the ridiculous trade up to #2 for Trubisky... Seriously has to be one of the most assinine trades in NFL history.)McCafsteez wrote: ↑Thu Apr 29, 2021 9:14 am Any players you don't want to see being drafted by an organization?
I'll start:
1) Just traded for Bridgewater so I am hoping DEN doesn't spend their premium 1st on a QB.
2) Chase to the Bengals. Just think there are more ideal spots for him if he is able to fall a little bit.
3) Bears staying put at pick 20. As a Bears fan, I would love to see them move up to grab a QB depending on price.

Re: What DON'T you want to see happen in tonight's draft?
I don't want Chase to go to Cincy or Baltimore.
I hope the Cowboys are smart this time. They had the #1 offense in terms of yardage in 2019. What did they do? Take Lamb in the first. Don't draft offense!
I hope Niners don't draft Lance or Jones. I will literally go on a rampage for days on end. I don't think I can handle it.
I don't want any of the top RBs to get drafted to a system that already has RBs in place, or to a system that doesn't value RBs enough for fantasy purposes. I don't want Harris to go to New England, for example.

He won't get by Miami or Detroit if he does fall, and Cincy is better than either of them.McCafsteez wrote: ↑Thu Apr 29, 2021 9:14 am Any players you don't want to see being drafted by an organization?

I’d prefer the Steelers not draft RB round 1. I’d rather OL or CB

As a Giants fan, they already have 3 startable WR's. The smoke is that they want to take a WR in the 1st. Please don't.

The value may be there. Don't you want best player available?Dynasty DeLorean wrote: ↑Thu Apr 29, 2021 10:26 am As a Giants fan, they already have 3 startable WR's. The smoke is that they want to take a WR in the 1st. Please don't.

They pick at 11. The value for a WR not named Chase is certainly not there.Pac_Eddy wrote: ↑Thu Apr 29, 2021 10:31 amThe value may be there. Engram is worse than not good
Re: What DON'T you want to see happen in tonight's draft?
NYG needs to find out NOW if Jones is really the guy longterm or not, and a top WR prospect is the best thing you can bring in to help him immediately. They've invested in the OL and now need the coaching staff to do their job and develop those guys rather than continue to throw draft picks at it when most OL need 1-3 years to truly develop into quality starters. They have to see significant improvement in Jones now to feel comfortable picking up his option next year (and to save Gettleman's job), and WR is the best way to help see that desired jump.

Re: What DON'T you want to see happen in tonight's draft?
This doesn't make any sense to me. Shepard and Slayton are likely the same or better than any rookie WR for THIS YEAR, even a good prospect. I think this board is really underrating those two. They are solid WR's. At pick 11, they are going to draft a WR that could be had in round 2 in other years. It's just a waste of draft capital imo.bjd5211 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 29, 2021 10:39 am NYG needs to find out NOW if Jones is really the guy longterm or not, and a top WR prospect is the best thing you can bring in to help him immediately. Re: What DON'T you want to see happen in tonight's draft?
Bears have always been a bad spot for QBs. If he ends up there it means they likely have to trade significant draft capital to go up and get him, which hurts the talent they can put around him in the future. Plus Nagy and Pace are on a very hot seat, so good chance they are gone next year and leave behind an aging roster with limited draft and cap resources. I would take Detroit over Chicago if it had to be one of the two, at least they have 2 promising young skill players (Hock/Swift), the ability to get him without having to mortgage the future, a lot of future draft capital to put more talent around him, and a HC/GM you know are going to be there for several years.StripesOfKC wrote: ↑Thu Apr 29, 2021 10:37 amBears really aren't a bad spot
Their OL is closer to mediocre than horrible and AROB/Mooney/Kmet/Montgomery with Cohen out of the backfield isn't really a bad supporting cast IMO
Lions would however be terrible

Don't want to see my Patriots draft down and out of the 1st round... yet again, like way too many years.
Bill will probably piss me and most Pats fans off, but damn it, I will feast, drink and still enjoy the #$%@ out of the draft!
