Re: Allen Robinson
It is going to take awhile to trust him and that offense as a whole being fantasy consistent. I highly doubt there will be too many game where Taylor Gabriel is putting up monster stats and we knew Cohen was due. I think Howard owners are more likely to be a little panicky after the last game. ARob did start out well at least.

Re: Allen Robinson
Give a player coming back from ACL tear one full season after the surgery to properly evaluate their comeback. Time and time again I see examples of owners who lack the patience this hobby requires. ARob is who we thought he was. Give him, Trubisky, and this NEW offensive scheme some time.

Re: Allen Robinson
I can understand those who aren't high on Trubisky, but I wouldn't bail on this offense just yet. There's a lot of similar concepts from what Kansas City is doing with Mahomes. Chicago has A LOT of weapons. They have a great defense, but their strategy so far hasn't been to run-run-pass each series.Friction wrote: ↑Fri Oct 05, 2018 9:13 am It is going to take awhile to trust him and that offense as a whole being fantasy consistent. Re: Allen Robinson
Just bought ARob for Wentz straight up for the team in sig. Definitely think that last week was a good thing, as it allowed me to pry a WR2 for a QB. There will be better days ahead for him.

Allen Robinson - The Forgotten Stud?
I'm sure most of you watched Robinson last night catch 2 more Touchdowns, but I feel like we haven't been talking about him enough this season.
He's on pace for 94 / 1,150 / 8.5 while suffering through another terrible year from M. Trubisky.
He's currently WR #14 in my league, on pace with guys like J. Jones, D. Adams, and K. Allen and outscoring guys like OBJ, Ridley, Lockett, Diggs...
He also just turned 26 before the start of the season and could be in line for a major off-season QB upgrade (Cam? Bridgewater? Rivers?). He looks fully healed from his torn ACL from 2 years ago and has been absolutely balling out.
When do we start valuing him in that tier of young, productive WR's like Diggs, Godwin, Cooper, Golladay, Kupp, etc...?

Re: Allen Robinson - The Forgotten Stud?
Should have started around mid season imo. I love the guy and he wiould still be on my team if I hadn't swung a great deal to ship him away when I blew up my team for a rebuild (got 2020 and 2021 first for Arob alone) The team is a major contender but is very top heavy, could win it all if his guys are hot, could be out in round 2 (got a bye) if a couple guys are cold.
Very happy I moved him because of the return and it helped me secure a better draft pick, but I still very much like him as a player. Get this man a QB and he will feast

Re: Allen Robinson - The Forgotten Stud?
I traded ARob and the 1.2 (which turned into David Montgomery) last off-season for DJ Moore. I’m still fairly pleased with how the trade worked out since Moore is having a great 2nd year, but I do miss Arob. I’ve always thought he was a stud WR that just can’t catch a break on QB play. It’s impressive what he’s been able to accomplish in some of his seasons despite having Bortles and Trubisky throwing him the ball. If only the bears would’ve taken Mahomes...

Re: Allen Robinson - The Forgotten Stud?
He has been playing great no doubt but he has been forgotten for a reason, he disappeared for almost two years after being valued as a top 3 Dynasty Wr after his 2015 Jacksonville season. Many got burned by him after that so its taken a few years to recover his value in the community. I dont think his value will ever be as high as it was after 2015. As far as your question goes id value him over diggs, value him equally with Golladay. Cooper, Godwin, and kupp are above him.

Re: Allen Robinson - The Forgotten Stud?
Traded him off a bunch of teams the past six or seven months:
Straight up for Chark (to get younger at WR) back in October.
Traded him and a late third for Fournette and a late 2nd in July.
Traded him for N'Keal Harry and a 2020 3rd in September.
and probably the ugliest trade, ARob, and Kerryon for Corey Davis, a throw away player, and a '20 1st (1.08) and '21 1st (belonging to a team that slotted at 1.05 this year, and flat out has a pretty old and injury prone roster, so I can't see it being worse than 1.07, and it's probably not being any better than 1.03 or 1.04). The last trade was basically part of getting out of players at peak or end of peak years since I didn't anticipate contending for titles till 2021 (hoping to make a run at the playoffs next year).
I'm happy w/two of the four trades, think I could've gotten more in the third and fourth quite clearly. The trades were motivated by differing interests:
The first two involved getting players I expected to rise in value higher than ARob, Chark for his longer years of productivity if I was right, while I planned to flip Fournette if his value rose as I expected to.
The Last two involved moving off ARob in teams I felt wouldn't contend until '21, or at the earliest, '20, and so I didnt want to waste ARob's age 26 and 27 seasons on teams I was largely tanking with. I like to be able to have flexibility with trading players, and I didnt think I'd have enough flexibility with a 28 year old ARob as I would w/a 26 year old, but then again, I stold for very cheap in the third deal, while the fourth was more borderline. It happens. I wanted to accumulate as much Harry as I could, and I have. Just wish I had more than 2 dynasty and 1 Keeper share of ARob at this point (all on contending teams). 1 of the shares was acquired for Kirk Cousins alone from the 2018 champion which was kind of nuts. He needed QB help bad and way undersold him like me in trade 3.

Re: Allen Robinson - The Forgotten Stud?
I was low on him before the season, I'll admit I was wrong. He's been consistent with only a few duds, and several high ceiling games.
I don't want to double down on my wrong-ness, but would like to throw up a caution flag regarding "major offseason QB upgrade". He is on pace for ~142 targets this year, down only slightly from his JAX highs of 151. I don't expect a ton more targets. He's also catching a career high 65.5% of his targets. There's not a ton of room to grow there, either. Unless, say a Peyton Manning like stud emerges and recall when D. Thomas improved dramatically; his catch rate overnight improved from 45% to 65% (Tebow vs. Manning). The pace he is on is just fine...again I was too low on him. But I just wouldn't buy with the expectations of dramatic improvements from here...

Re: Allen Robinson - The Forgotten Stud?
I was able to obtain him in all but one league, for pennies on the dollar. Have been pretty consistent with my belief in his abilities. His route running is elite and he makes bad QB's look decent. Still think he is undervalued, but I have a bias and admit to that.
I am just a guy sharing some thoughts
Re: Allen Robinson - The Forgotten Stud?
Super talented. I think most of his issues are the QBs and teams he's played on.
I don't trust the Bears to fix the offense though. They have a very good RB in Montgomery too and don't know how to use him. I'm not a Trubisky guy, but he can be solid if they run more, use play action & bootlegs, and basically play to his strengths. They don't seem to do that consistently.
If he were on a team with an even average QB, he'd be a great fantasy player.

Not all that counts can be counted. Not all that can be counted counts.
Re: Allen Robinson - The Forgotten Stud?
You never know, the third trade could turn out the best of the three. In the second trade, many had scrap-heaped Fournette (though I was buying and am on-record here saying I think he performs in a huge "prove-it" year).stoneghost28 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2019 8:26 am Traded him off a bunch of teams the past six or seven months:

Back to trade three, Corey Davis could very easily follow the ARob trajectory of taking a huge value dive and then coming back up, where he was hampered by QB play and (not like ARob but like other prospects) not fully putting it together yet and then has a break-out year. Look at the way Boyd transitioned and came back from nowhere or even briefly and maybe still John Ross. Can't write him off yet. Further, if you are trading for future picks, especially two years out, you gotta be patient and trust your drafting ability. Dynasty values cycle all the time. You hit big on those firsts and Davis puts it together and midway through '21 when this stage is all forgotten you roll through with the brag post and it all looked brilliant. Can't bail on your deals too soon I guess is my takeaway
