Keenan Allen
I've always liked him as a player and have tried to acquire him in the past. Of course, his injury history raises a red flag but I think he could put up even better numbers in 2018 with Gates gone and Henry now out. Looking into acquiring him again. What are everyone's thoughts on Allen? Is he a buy or sell for you for this year and beyond?

Re: Keenan Allen
I think he's great as long as he's healthy. He'll be solid even after Rivers retires.
That health red flag is big though.
I'll call him a hold at current price.

Not all that counts can be counted. Not all that can be counted counts.
Re: Keenan Allen
Not a buy for me because I do not see him increasing in value. Maybe a sell depending what you can get - but if you own him you are probably better off holding.
Re: Keenan Allen
I actually think he takes a step back this season as M. Williams becomes more involved in the offense. More coverage could slide towards Allen due to no Henry to take that weapon away on more frequent down to down basis.
Don't get me wrong, I would like to own Allen but he has some risk as a high end WR1 in fantasy. Prior to last year, Allen never had more than 77 receptions. Prior to last year Allen never had more than 122 targets.
There is better chance his targets drop than they remain the same as last year. My projection is 10--15 range, not top 5.
Fantasy owners will want top 5 WR pricing based on his performance last year and they should but I would not pay that personally. However, if you can get a fair trade he is a legit target.

Re: Keenan Allen
KA kind of had 2 seasons.
Before the BYE weeks 1-8 he was the WR 23rd PPR in average points per game. Right with Paul Richardson.
He was OK. I don't think you would have found a KA owner raving about owning him.
After the BYE weeks 9-17 he EXPLODED. Led all WRS in points if you are going to include week 17 and was 2nd to only AB in PPG .
Very curious how this year plays out. I'm more on the side of the fence of his 2nd half but I do think some recency bias might have crept into his total valuation.

Re: Keenan Allen
WR1 for the next few years. Buying for the right price. Injury thing is overblown.
Re: Keenan Allen
I traded him off after several injuries, really wish I didn't do that ..

Re: Keenan Allen
Totally agree with this... my hot take(but i dont think its that hot) is that keenan is THE wr1 this year... ended last year on fire and the 1 guy who had a similar role(henry) is gone... i think keenan has an AB year

Re: Keenan Allen
I got lucky to have bought for Eifert and a future 1st (1.04 {Coleman} in 2016). I have now seen he is ranked as a top WR1. If I were to get the right price I would sell, but I highly doubt someone would pay top tear prices for him in my league.gmoftheyear wrote: ↑Thu Jul 12, 2018 2:49 pm I've always liked him as a player and have tried to acquire him in the past. Re: Keenan Allen
I don't even think he deserves a red flag for health all that much.
For instance, I don't know that a lacerated kidney is an injury that should be held against a guy insofar as judging his durability relative to others. Assuming we're only considering fit individuals lacking a thick layer of protective fat around their midsection, a blow of sufficient force and exact placement capable of lacerating one guy's kidney will probably lacerate almost every other guy's kidney.

Re: Keenan Allen
I think it's too late to buy him unless at a massive overpay. The guys who held through the injuries are likely the ones now reaping the benefits and aren't going to come off him cheaply.
