The next Victor Cruz?

Postby Humble » Wed Sep 07, 2016 10:42 am

Tavarres King had a great preseason.

He made the Giants roster.

Former 2013 5th round pick by Broncos.

He is a Victor Cruz injury away from relevance.

Is he someone to stash or WW fodder.

I stashed him with the fact that Victor Cruz still isn't himself.

Certainly has the measurables of a good talent, but odd he hasn't been able to stick anywhere. Maybe it just took him some time for the light to come on. I'm stashing if I have the room, with the intention of cutting for a higher upside/better situation pickup should one come along.

He's worth a stash, but they have a solid amount of WR talent in NY and I doubt a single injury to the Giants WRs will make him an instant producer.

I'm still surprised that the Giants rostered King over Geremy Davis.

His name is now Tyrell Williams and he plays on the Chargers.

It would be fun to see, but what are the reasons people think Williams is a breakout candidate? He's got enormous physical gifts, but he was plenty raw and it's a crowded depth chart in San Diego, even with Stevie being injured. He's definitely a nice end of bench flier, but I wonder if there's a bit TOO much hype.

Speaking in term of the Giants WR's, I think Roger Lewis has a better shot of being the "next Victor Cruz" vs King

Also agree on Tyree Williams

Cruz was only undrafted bc he played at lowly UMass, and didn't put up outrageous stats there. But he became a star bc this was how he was as an athlete: http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/ds ... &genpos=WR. Elite. King doesn't deserve to be compared to 2011 Cruz. As a prototype 'speed-slot', Cruz was practically uncoverable by the league's slot-corners at that time.

Ive loved King ever since he came into the league, but I dont love the situation. A deep Victor Cruz type flyer would maybe be Chester Rogers on the Colts.

Crazier things have happened, but I don't think there's enough volume for any Giants WR not named Beckham or Shepard to put up Cruz numbers this season. And even then, Shepard putting up Cruz numbers would still be a surprise.

Robby Anderson.
Dynasty player since 2002.
I probably should have done something more productive with that time...
