Shaq Thompson was just dropped in a league

So thinking he's a WW pick up (team 2). This is first year rebuild of orphan. Scoring: 1.8/tackle, .5/assist, 4/sack, 4 each/FF and recoveries. Do I drop one of my LBs listed below or maybe one of my RB/WR flyers like Roger Lewis? Thanks.

Jeez, I don't understand the love with Shaq Thompson. He is still unclaimed on the waiver wire in my league and we have very similar starting requirements and scoring as you. Either people are overvaluing him or we are all dumb where I'm from.

Here's what originally got me interested in Thompson, the kid can play and with Thomas Davis in his final years I think hes in a great situation.

Drop Preston smith. Might have a great year, but even if he puts up 10-12 sacks he's what, a boom/bust LB4 at best? He'd be the first guy to drop. Also, is there anyone on the wire you can pick up and drop Perry Riley?

So, we still love Shaq long term but it appears he's in for another long season as a part time player. Looked like he was out there what, half the snaps? Thomas Davis still going strong :/

Shaq looked fantastic last night. Issue was he played only 18 snaps. DEN purposely ran 3-4 WR sets to get more inexperienced DBs on the field then took advantage with CJA. Shaq still a great dynasty asset and I'm a huge fan but he can't be started with any confidence till CAR shows they trust him him in the slot in nickel situations like he played sometimes last year.

Agreed. 31% of defensive snaps simply isn't enough time to make an impact, but he continues to be around the ball when in there, like the fumble recovery. Also 3 tackle and a TFL. But yes, Tommy D isn't going anywhere this season and is a freak. Shaq isn't gonna be top two until Davis moves on or is injured. It's a waiting game.

I thought Davis had a pretty poor game. He got blown up at least twice by the FB in one on one situations, leaving a clear running lane for big gains. And on the CJ screen td he looked to have responsibility for the RB and just shot right by him, leaving an easy toss for seimien. The int was a nice play and showed his great instincts, but given his age and injury history a steep decline would not be surprising. Certainly worth watching as shaq did look good in limited snaps, even saw him on some decent TE coverage, no doubt he has the ability to be a 3 downer given the opportunity. Great dynasty buy and you never know what will happen this year.
