After our inaugural draft of ppr league, , ive been offered Eli Manning, Knowshonn Moreno, Anquan Boldin for Drew Brees.
Our league starts: 1 qb...2 rb...1 rb/wr...2 wr..1 TE on offense. Should i accept this trade??
Current Offensive Roster:
QB-Brees,Stafford
RB-Mendenhall,Greene,D. Brown, DMC,Lynch,Hardesty
WR-AJ,Jennings,Nicks,D. Thomas,Mccluser
TE-Davis,Cooley
Drew Brees Trade..
Seeing that you have the option to start 3 RB's, Moreno would come in and be a good option as your RB3. Same with Boldin being your WR3 while Nicks comes into his own. All that said, I really don't like the drop from Brees to Manning and think you should pass on this deal.
Your team will compete as is, nice roster man.

I would have a hard time trading an elite QB without getting an elite player in return. Boldin is hurt often, and not getting any younger. Eli is a low end QB1 IMO. And Knowshon is a low end RB1/high end RB2. I just think you can get better value for Brees.
Not to mention you have two solid starters at RB in Greene/Mendy, two solid starters at WR in Jennings/Johnson. So you can only start either Boldin/Moreno, and I don't see that as enough of an upgrade to justify giving up Brees' stats

that's actually really good value for a QB, assuming its a 12-team league (or less). Even the Drew Breeses of the world don't command much in return, and elite QBs certainly aren't necessary to win; i'd be excited to get three starters (or starting-caliber players) back for him. I'm not a fan of Boldin and might try to get someone else but i wouldn't let that be a deal-breaker.
Re: Drew Brees Trade..
I´d definately do that deal if I were you. Thats nice value for Brees, imo.

Re: Drew Brees Trade..
I agree with Mark (Steelersfan) in the sense that Eli Manning is a very under-rated QB. I also believe that Matthew Stafford will be an all around good QB in the NFL ... I'm not saying he'll be the next Aaron Rodgers or Drew Brees but he definitely flashed his potential last season on a very weak Lions team. Not to mention he didn't really get a chance to get chemistry with CJ going into OTA's but from all the reports I'm hearing now they're building a very solid relationship. Add in the fact they got the explosive Jahvid Best in the back field now.
Imo it is a good trade and it would suck to take the blow of losing Brees at first but with Eli Manning involved in the deal you can play Eli ahead of Stafford until Stafford starts finding his groove. I like the deal and it's good value.

Re: Drew Brees Trade..
Its not terrible value just looking at the trade, but its terrible value for you based on your roster. Again, adding 3 good players doesn't help seeing as you can only start one. Stafford would be your starter over Eli starting day 1. So I don't see enough benefit out of this for you. Its solidifying your bench, which is important to an extent, just not worth downgrading that far at QB to accomplish what this deal would achieve.

X2 - He has some good young backs where Moreno might not be needed, If I'm trading Brees away I'd want a higher profile player in return at at one of the 3 positions you're getting.nightmarion wrote:Its not terrible value just looking at the trade, but its terrible value for you based on your roster.
