Commisioner Vetod This Trade!?!?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Commisioner Vetod This Trade!?!?

Postby Spongehack » Sun May 17, 2015 10:36 am

I gave up: Calvin Johnson, DeSean Jackson, Justin Forsett and Lorenzo Taliaferro

for: 1.2, 2.2, 3.2, 4.2, 2016 1st and 2016 2nd

The team receiving Calvin Johnson best WR is Larry Fitzgerald, Torrey Smith and Jarvis Landry. He also has Peyton Manning and Adrian Peterson with no second starting RB and is in a win now mode. Is this trade that lopsided in favor of the person receiving the draft picks that this trade can be vetoed??? I actually thought I was giving up too much as the Calvin owner. I need people's opinions to make an argument with the commissioner.

Please help!

I'd say you sold those players a little too cheap, but I don't think its veto worthy.

Trades like this are why I hate leagues where commissioner gets all control of trades. It's not overly one - sided at all. If he's win now I see it. Definitely not lopsided enough to be vetoed

Good luck with that. That is terrible. Possibly enough for CJ if you are in rebuild. I don't think I would say it should be vetoed, but it is awful.

No way that trade should have been vetoed. There is a valid argument to be made both ways.
Team 1: 10 Team, 4 Keeper League, Non-PPR
QB: Deshaun Watson
RB: Ezekiel Elliott, Leonard Fournette, Kareem Hunt
WR: Julio Jones, Dez Bryant
TE: Rob Gronkowski

Nobody is paying for CJ right now. I couldn't get a top 5 pick for him in my league. Ended up giving him to a contender for JMatt Eifert and 2016 1/2.

I am looking to get younger which is why I am trading Calvin for draft picks. I am also looking to trade Drew Brees and Jordy Nelson for younger assets as well. But there is no way this trade should be vetoed right? I think it's fair for both sides.

I just don't get it. I can't pry Mega away from his owner's in any of my 8 leagues with a crowbar.

I understand wanting to get younger, but your team is very much a contender, why blow it up? You have a real nice starting line up, and the 1.3.

Any veto that's not collusion is stupid. That this trade was vetod is ridiculous though. Did he give you any reason as to why he did it?

Get younger by getting maximum value on the players you currently have. Don't get younger just to "get younger". If you can't get full return on Calvin right now, then look to move a different player, and reap the benefits of having one of the best WRs to ever play the game playing on your team during his 29-32 years. He is going to produce. Maybe not so far and away above every other receiver like in years past, but he's going to produce.

I think you lose the trade by a lot. But, its not vetoable.

One more vote for not vetoable. Not even as bad as others think. Not a desean fan
QB - DWatson(HOU)Minshew(JAX)Darnold(NYJ)
RB -NChubb(CLE)DHenry(TEN)JTaylor(IND)Gurley(ATL)
WR -DHopkins(ARI)ACooper(DAL)CGodwin(TB)OBJ(CLE)
TE - HHenry(SD)DGoeddart(PHI)
K - Zurlien(LAR)Crosby(GB)
Def - ARI DAL
[rookie] Haskins(WAS)DSwift(DET)Jefferson(MIN)MHardman(KC)
7th pick in 2021

Rosters must always be 3qbs 4wrs 4rbs 2tes 2kickers 2dst and protected players don't take up a roster spot, but are only for rookie/2nd-year players that were drafted

So I will answer a few questions. 1. Definitely not a veto. 2. Definitely Calvin side has more value. 3. Your team is ready to compete for a championship. Why are you trying to blow it up?!!! If anything, I would try to sell some of my spare pieces to upgrade my QB.

I thought I was selling a little cheap too but the commish thinks otherwise. He just sees all of the 6 draft picks and thinks its unfair...
