Tyler Lockett

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Tyler Lockett

Postby dchurch85 » Tue May 05, 2015 10:47 am

Hello all,

This is for team 1 in sig below. From what I've seen, there is a lot of hype on him, but his value is all over the board. I would love to get him as I'm a big fan after reading up on him. Is 2.02 too early for him? I don't have another pick until 2.10 and I'm in a league with lots of Seahawk fans so I'm not sure he would make it to me. What does the community think about him and where he should be drafted? Thanks all!

I have the 2.02 & 2.10 as well and I'm considering him there. I also am playing with the idea of Dorsett there as well. I have an affinity for those type of WRs though I feel like. The shifty more new-age WR is really seeming to trend in the NFL. I don't think Lockett bursts onto the scene in SEA, but I think we'll see flashes all year and possibly by 2016 he's the #2 target behind Graham

Yeah I'm wondering about him...Seattle traded a lot of picks to move up and get him. You would think he has a good shot to do something in Seattle. Seatle's wr core isn't special.

I've been seeing him go in the late 2nd. 2.10ish. If I had the 2.02/2.10, I'd be going for Dorsett at 2.02 and Lockett at 2.10. There's several players I'd rather have at 2.02 than Lockett, even if Dorsett is gone.

I actually got him at 3.03 in my rookie draft if that helps.

I also had 2.10 and was really hoping he'd fall. He went at 2.2. I wouldn't wait if I were you, he is an elite route runner who could become the best WR in Seattle. If he goes before 2.10 you'll probably regret it, but if you get him at 2.2 you can still get a quality player at 2.10

If you're drafting on talent and skill, Lockett is no where near 2.10

Late 1st-Early 2nd depending on league size. I'll admit, Seattle isn't the greatest situation, which is why some have dropped him further but there's two things that are encouraging off the bat:

1. They traded multiple draft picks to move up for him.
2. They already have a role cemented for him in the return game.

Seattle's WR's overall are not that good. Baldwin is probably the best they have, Richardson played well towards the end of last season, but he's hurt. Graham will probably be the premier target at TE. Lockett, who can run a full route tree, has nice separation skills and 4.4 speed can make some noise long-term. I'm higher on Lockett than most though. I've been beating the drum for him in the mock draft section for months.
