Thinking of starting a 16-team, PPR, full-IDP, Devy Dynasty

Any interest from you DLFers?

Basic parameters are the following...
-16 teams
-40 man rosters
-Full PPR
-QB, RBx2, WRx3, TE, K, DLx3, LBx4, DBx4
-5 rd inaugural rookie/FA draft, then 3 rd rookie/FA draft annually
-5 rd devy draft in year 1
-4 rd devy draft in year 2
-3 rd devy draft thereafter
-5 man rookie only taxi squad
-FA rookies can be added and demoted to TS
-5 man IR
-Unlimited devy rosters
-All TDs worth 6 pts, standard fractional scoring elsewhere, tackle-heavy IDP scoring (Sack-3 pts, Tackle-1.5 pts, Assist-.75 pts, etc.)
$35 entry fee

This is an idea I have been kicking around. I am currently in one devy league, but this one would sort of combine aspects that I like about my standard dynasty with the devy concept of the other league.

If I can get enough interest in the idea, we will see about proceeding with it. Let me know your thoughts, and leave email in your response. Once we get 16 people willing to commit, I will switch over to mass email correspondence.

This sounds like a great potential league and I would definitely be interested in joining...the only suggestion I would have that would go along even better with your tackle heavy scheme would be to make the tackles score specific to the position (ex. LB - 1.8pt tackle/.9 assist , DE - 3pt tackle/1.5 assist, DT - 4pt tackle/ 2pt assist, CB - 2.2pt tackle/ 1.1 assist, S - 2 pt. tackle/ 1pt assist)

This is how it is set up in three leagues that I am in and it's a setup that I have borrowed for a league I run and I love it! But I'm in either way if you decide to start it

Not opposed to slightly adjusting tackle scoring between positions. I don't think I want to seperate DT and DE scoring or S and CB scoring, as I have no plans to break down the DL or DB positions to require a DT or CB.

I don't want to level the playing field between DEs and DTs by rewarding DTs with more points for the same plays, because it lessens the need for DL when you narrow the scoring gap. It seems to dilute the pool of potential starting players at DL. Same can be said for S and CB. I think it fosters trade activity and creates positional value/advantage to limit the number of viable starters at a position, especially defensively. If you give more value to DTs or CBs by bumping their scoring, it would seem to lessen the value of startable DEs and S, which are obviously more valuable than DTs and CBs from a fantasy perspective.

I'd be fine with scoring LBs at 1.5/.75 (tack:asst), DBs at 1.75/1.0, and DL at 2.0/1.0.

Id be interested in this but more so if it was max $30 as im probably getting refunded in a bad league for $30 n would rather not have to deposit on league safe again but understand that sounds petty bit if its $30 id be down

I'd say go ahead and get the league set up and running with the understanding that it is a startup and the bylaws might still go through some renovations, but you have the foundation of them in the post....

Build it and they will come (join)!

I personally think 35 is plenty reasonable for anyone joining....lot going on in this potential league, needs a decent winnings pot

I think having a flex position on offense would be nice (rb, wr, te).....my final 2 cents

I would be interested as well. I think a flex on offence would be ideal. Maybe even one on defence as well.

Not opposed to a flex offensive position, but it would have to be at the expense of the 3rd WR position. With 16-team leagues, it is my experience that adding another offensive position in addition to the ones listed would be difficult for some teams to field a competitive lineup, especially when factoring in bye weeks and injuries as you get into the meat of the season.

Defensively, starting a full, 11-man defense makes a need for a flex defensive position unnecessary IMO.
