Gronk on Jimmy Kimmel

This makes me want to trade whatever I can for him to have him on my team. He's easily my favorite player and I'm not even a Patriots fan.

Buuuuuuuuut the owner who has him said he wants Luck. So it probably won't happen.

The only thought that makes me think I could pull it off? In all of my games, the difference between Luck and Cutler wouldn't have changed the outcome of the matchup. I would've had the same record either way.

Anyone else feel this way?

Ha! Makes me feel the exact opposite way. I hate how...slow he is (sorry if that's mean or rude or whatever but I don't know the current PC word for it). Makes me uncomfortable watching him.

I would trade Luck for Gronk in a 12-team 1QB league. I feel sorry for any drug/booze/woman that encountered Gronk recently #GronkSmash

In a 12 team league, I would trade Luck for Gronk in a heartbeat

QBs aren't super important in a 12 team, but the 6 pt per passing TD makes me want to hold Luck...

If I did do the deal (which I probably would in the end), I would see if I could package some of those picks you have for another dominate QB. Or if you like one of Winston/Mariota pull the trigger on one of those guys.

Whoa really? Is it that big of a no brainer to trade Luck for Gronk? Can we just switch up the convo and just focus on that idea? I've seen people say Luck should go #1 in startups.

no way I trade luck for gronk or any other single player
luck will pile up the numbers for another decade minimum
what is gronk's window as an elite huge advantage 3- 4 years tops add in his extensive injury history and style of play
no thanks

In a larger league, 2QB, or Superflex you could definitely go that route, but in a 12 team, 1QB (even with the 6pt passing TDs) that would not be a wise decision. A player like Gronk (I feel) has more value due to the scarcity of points at the TE position.

Yeah, I agree. In a 12 team league, the value just isn't there. Pretty simple, value based drafting and all that

Thank you for bringing some sanity to this thread. Trading Luck for Gronk is very ill advised in a 12-team/1 QB league. You'd have to be high as a kite to do that. :nono:

Gronk and Luck have nearly identical value IMO. Gronk plays a position where points are hard to come by, so I'd take him. I wouldn't fault anyone for taking either side. I don't smoke weed either....

Gronk should go #1 in startups. Luck gets outscored by Rodgers, Wilson, Brees, Peyton on a regular basis. Gronk is king of TE points per game and has been for 3 of the last 4 years, only an injury slows him down. He is irreplaceable.

I'd take Gronk pretty easily given 12 team 1 qb and must start a TE.

It seems like instead of a Gronk vs. Luck debate, it is really Gronk & Cutler vs. Luck & Allen/Amaro/TE addition conversation. In a dynasty format, I take the youth and relatively safe Luck side of that comparison.

How close is Cutler from being cut or sent to another team with possible (probably?) a worse receiving game? How many years will Gronk continue to heavily outperform the other TEs? How long will Luck be a top 3-5 QB?

With those questions in mind, I keep Luck.
