Rookie WRs 2.0

Postby Thedude30 » Mon Nov 10, 2014 3:10 pm

Re doing the rookie WR poll, sans Mike Evans and Sammy Watkins. I had misspelled several names(one beer too many? possible.) and left out a rookie WR who has come on in a big way. So, pick 3 you like the most long term and lets see where this goes! Thanks.

I figure Beckham and Benjamin would be the top 2.

As far as Cooks/Matthews I think that Matthews has more upside so he gets the nod from me.

I tried to vote OBJ three times, but it wouldn't let me. I really like what I'm seeing from him after only 5 pro games. He looked unphased by Sherman last night, and perhaps just as importantly Eli and the coaching staff were confident enough to throw to him despite Sherman on him. They know what they've got.

All these guys, for the most part, are taking their turns with the big game. Tonight Matthews is looking pretty good. I'm glad one of my leagues started up this year, and I was able to grab a bunch of those guys. Looking like a special class.

OBJ looks pretty special, no doubt.

I'm surprised people are still high on Benjamin. He drops passes, runs poor routes, and has a bad work ethic (reportedly). I'd rather have Matthews, who seems to be the Anti-Benjamin in every positive way.

I find myself incredulous. I have tons of WRs from this class (4, soon to be 5) and I keep thinking "do I really want so many of these rookies? surely some will bust." But then I look them over and they all seem to be as good as advertised.

Aaand now ARob is out for the season with a stress fracture. Shoot, I didn't even know he was hurt.

Might lower his value some.

As a Panther fan, I agree. I wish we drafted Matthews. I've wished it since the draft. Watching the difference between them on the field last night was painful.

Don't get me wrong, I still think Benjamin has a ton of talent, and that he'll work out nicely for you guys in long run. I mainly prefer Matthews for his intangibles, worth ethic, and drive to succeed. The Jerry Rice bloodline has been blown out of proportion by the media, but I do believe that he has Jerry Rice-esque dedication to his craft. I'm really excited to see how he progresses moving forward.

ARob is so under rated.
