Purdy and 1.02 is on the table? It seems like you get two upgrades: 1.05 to 1.02 (likely MHJr), Smith to Purdy, and then a 2.02 to close the gap? Sure, sign me up...

I totally whiffed, and missed the upgrade from 1.05 to 1.02.
Yeah, that makes this a much more difficult decision.
I'll go with personal preference ... but that 1.02 is a nice upgrade.

If the guy is willing to accept the offer as is, I would be afraid to wait too long before finishing the deal. This is a great price for you. It would be a shame if the other guy made a trade with a different team, or if he changed his mind and increased the asking price.

This is a great great GREAT price for you.
What about a pivot to Purdy? He has a glut of QBs and is looking to deal one of them. Initial stages only but there is potential for the following:

Give: 1.05 + Devonta + 2.02
Get: Purdy + 1.02
I'd be happy to pay the premium of swapping the 2.02 for a '25 1st to ensure I got Stroud over Purdy.

No slight to Purdy. He's a good piece also. It's just that moving back four-to-six picks ('25 1st to 2.02) isn't enough of a motivator for me. I still want Stroud.

If you think Purdy is better than Stroud, or even if you personally think they are even ... then maybe you take the Purdy offer. I would not choose it over the Stroud offer, but it's not a crazy decision if you want to do it.
I agree with AE on all fronts.

Also, I might do the Purdy deal just to acquire the 1.02 and then flip Purdy for something else, since I think he's overrated but that's just me.

I take it back. He doesn’t have cold feet, but wants that 2.02 upgraded to a 25 1st. Deal would be:

Get: Purdy + 1.02
Give: Smith + 1.05 + 25 1st
