Harrison v Bowers in big TEP

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Harrison v Bowers in big TEP

Postby character0 » Sun May 05, 2024 7:19 am

I’m having a hard time not taking Harrison at 1.02 but I desperately need a TE. I took over this orphan a couple of years ago and have added nice pieces but am desperate for a TE. It’s a start 2TE and 2 PPR for TE (PPR for everyone else). Do I take best player in Harrison or reach and take Bowers out of need?

WR of note: Higgins, London, Wilson, Collins, Watson

I have no TE that are useful.

Have you considered trading the 1.02 for a TE?
12 Team Superflex Best Ball PPR TEP +1.5
QB: Lawrence, Kyler Murray, O’Connell
RB: Gibbs, Etienne, Javonte Williams, Chase Brown
WR: London, Higgins, Pickens, Tank Dell, Quentin Johnston, Ricky Pearsall, Troy Franklin
TE: McBride, Freiermuth

I would trade back a couple spots and take Bowers if you wanna go TE.

Me personally I’m standing pat and taking MHJ, then flip a WR for a TE
Team 1: 12 Team PPR, 2 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 2 RB/WR/TE; 23 man rosters (typical scoring, except 2 pts per completion)
QBs: Josh Allen, Tua Tagovailoa, Derek Carr
RBs: Jonathan Taylor, Alvin Kamara, Zack Moss, Tyrone Tracy
WRs: Brandon Aiyuk, Jaylen Waddle, Michael Pittman, Terry McLaurin, Diontae Johnson, Malachi Corley
TEs: Trey McBride, Ja’Tavion Sanders
Draft Picks Remaining: 16.11,17.2,18.11,19.2,20.11,21.2,22.11,23.2

It’s been hard to acquire TEs in this league. Tried flipping 1.02 straight up for a TE. Tried moving back to 1.03 but that owner is sticking there. I can try to move to 1.04 I just don’t want to miss out on both MHJ and Bowers

Honestly, given that format, Bowers over MJH isn't necessarily a poor choice. I wouldn't do it based on need. But, if you think Bowers is simply better player to draft given the settings, it's completely reasonable and legit.

I’d stand pat and take MHJ…Id then maybe take an upside flyer on JaTavion Sanders or Cade Stover later on

^This.

I'm taking MHJ and not overthinking it. Definitely not flipping the 1.02 for any TE straight-up.

Even with the extra PPR and a start 2, I assume you can still start more WRs? I think it'd be better to lock down a WR spot with a stud than to reach for a TE in a :eh: landing spot based on need.

While I’m a little more on the MHJ side, it wouldn’t be out of the realm of craziness to take Bowers.
