EASILY the future pick for me. There might be 14ish players (give or take) with a first-round grade, but there are about 8 players in the Tier 1 group. I'm happily trading a pick outside that group for one likely to be worth much, much more next year. Yes, there's risk. There's also risk in drafting a player. If the pick is anywhere from 1.01-1.06, you'll get much more value of it next year than the 1.09 will give this year.
I'll disagree, the QB's this year are so much better, and people are undervaluing some of them. Give me the 1.09.

With his roster, T Law is the only stable guy. Richardson and Young are huge question marks, and I think he should be moving Bryce, because I don't think he's going to pan out in that awful franchise.

Getting a Nix (or Penix), I'm doing it. Nix I think is super safe, Penix is a swing for the fences a bit more.

This is a bit harsh. I think having Tlaw, Richardson and Young as your QB 3 is solid as hell. I definitely don’t have more faith in Nix who should have never been near a first round pick going to Denver with the overrated Payton. I don’t see a need to draft QB here. That is a solid 3

And reaching for Nix to fill a need is no bueno. Grab BPA and keep on moving along.

When I read this I immediately thought "that's right". But then I checked the trade finder tool and was fairly shocked by recent deals that have gone down.

All 12-team, SF/2QB:

Give: Young, 4.04
Get: 1.10/3.04

Give: Young
Get: Geno, 2.01

Give: Young, 3.01, 3.04
Get: Pittman, Brian Robinson, 2.06

Give: Young, 3.10
Get: 2.03, Mayer

Note: All these trades were in April but before the NFL Draft.
Surprising! These are fine deals for Young. I have him in 2 leagues and haven’t gotten better than a single 2.12 for him. I do agree that he will likely never live up to first overall draft pick expectations, but I think he will improve this year under Canales and even seeing some improvement should bump his value up. Last year was an unmitigated disaster, but it did come with at least a small asterisk as he walked into perhaps the worst situation any rookie QB has had in recent memory.

Yep. I'm a buyer on BY this off-season. Although those deals suggest he may not be as much of a buy low as I thought.
