Two 14 team - SF & a 12 team SF draft to watch

Hello Everyone,

Figured I would put two of my 14 team SF leagues (league # 4 and #5 in signature) just to have some results for this format.

League #4 has some odd settings: no required TE start, 2ppr TEP, 6 pt passing tds, 4 pt qb rushing tds, and more points for passing than rushing yards for qbs.

League #5 is a pretty normal 14 team SF:

My picks will be in bold, notes on the picks will be in parenthesis, draft day trades will be in Italics

I should note that there is a decent amount of overlap in terms of owners being in both leagues.

I have another 2 14 team leagues drafting next week (league #3 I have no picks and its SF, League #6 is an orphan team i did a dispersal draft for and I have minimal picks in, its currently 1QB but going to SF next year).

1.12 - Michael Penix Jr (I think he starts in 2025 or 2026, I'm willing to wait with deep rosters and it being a 14 team SF. I think getting a top 10 NFL drafted QB with a late first is always a steel. I do like him more than Nix
1.13 - Bo Nix (1.13 traded for Aaron Rodgers prior to pick being on the clock)
1.14 - Benson
1.15 - Coleman (toilet bowl pick)

2.02 - Pearsall 2.02 traded for flacco, 25 2nd, 26 3rd
2.03 - AD Mitchell (1.04 + 3.04 traded for 1.07 + 2.03)

2.05 - Vidal (seems early, especially with corum and Lloyd still available)
2.06 - Sinnott (2.06 + 2025 1st traded for Jonathan Taylor)
2.07 - Ja Tavion Sanders (seems early)
2.08 - Polk (I like Polk. Scary with patriots history of wr drafting but this is Mayo regime not Belichick now. Wouldn't be surprised if they invest early in wr again next year though)
2.09 - Corum (unfortunate landing spot but I think he'll still get work. This is a 0.25 ppc league but just a start 1 RB required.)
2.10 - Lloyd (I know lots of people were high on him pre draft. I think he could be clear RB1 on his team in 2025)
2.11 - Franklin (big drop from pre draft but I think this is a reasonable spot for him)
2.12 - Roman Wilson (I had him ranked much higher, but at 2.08 when Polk was picked i had Polk, corum, Lloyd, Wilson, and one other in a tier so I knew I was getting one of them. I was surprised Michelle, Vidal, Sinnat, and sanders were taken where they were. I'm always willing to spend capital on wrs drafted by Pitt in the 2nd or 3rd of NFL draft)
2.13 - wright
2.14 - Ray davis
3.01 - Corley
3.02 - no pick, timer expired
3.03 - Burton (really like this pick. I had him as a second rounder. If Higgins moves on Burton could be the #2 on that offense)
3.04 - Estime (like this pick as well) (1.04 + 3.04 traded for 1.07 + 2.03)
3.05 - Tyrone Tracy
3.06 - Erick all
3.07 - Isaac Guerrendo
3.08 - Bucky Irving
3.09 - Spencer Rattler (I'm usually the QB enforcer in these 14 team SF leagues. This seems about right or high for Rattler. Really think he fell too far in the draft.)
3.10 - Theo Johnson (I really like Theo and think he should definitely be drafted. Seems like an athletic TE that could replace waller if retired. However bellinger is still there and further removed from his face injury.)
3.11 - Jordan travis
3.12 - Luke McCaffrey (tried to trade up to this pick and previous ones for Luke MC)
3.13 - Javon Baker
3.14 - Jalen McMillan (tried trading back in to drafMcMillan as well)

1.12 - Michael Penix Jr (thats right i had the 1.12 in both leagues. I actually had to wait until both picks were on the clock to draft Penix; my highest player left on my draft chart. Didn't want anyone jumping ahead in one of the leagues. I'll also note I have cousins in this league)
1.13 - McConkey (1.05, 1.13, 2.07 traded for Kyren Williams and Olave)
1.14 - Jonathon Brooks (I tried to trade back into this spot using my 2025 1st, was rejected)
1.15 - Ricky Pearsall (toilet bowl pick) (Nabors was traded for the 1.07 + 1.15)
2.01 - Trey Benson (I tried moving my 2025 1st for the 2.01 and 2.03, was rejected. 2.01 traded for 2.08 + Hunter Henry)
2.02 - Keon Coleman
2.03 - Xavier Legette
2.04 - AD Mitchell 2.04, 2x 2025 3rds traded for Terry McLaurin (I don't think I would have drafted him here. He's talented but concerning reports about how he goes about monitoring his medical conditions. Personally I would have kept McLaurin to see how he does with a new QB)
2.05 - Jalyn Wright 2.05 traded for chig
2.06 - Jermaine Burton
2.07 - Ben Sinnot (1.05, 1.13, 2.07 traded for Kyren Williams and Olave)

2.12 - Polk (surprised he fell this far. Say what you will be is an early second round NFL drafted wr. He may be the best wr this year. I do think NE adds another quality wr within the next year)

3.03 - troy Franklin (how the mighty have fallen. Certainly a nice pick here if Franklin turns into anything)

Overall I'm just waiting for now. For league #4 I have 2 2025 1sts so I don't really have an interest in moving anything to get back into a pick soon. I'll likely wait until middle to late 2nd to make my next moves.

I did have 14 players with first round grades this draft and another 16ish with 2nd round grades. So I really do like moving up from later picks or 2025 in these leagues.

I have to say I was surprised with the relatively low value going to some of these QBs (remember 6 in top 12 of the NFL draft) in a 14 team SF. I think it really does put a premium on the position. In the case of league #4 its a start 1 QB, 1 RB, 1 WR, 0 TE, 1 SF, 6 Flex (start 10 total), so I think there are the highest premiums on QB and then WR.

Maye is falling way too far in these early mocks. After Washington added Mariota, we all knew Maye's likely destination was NE. Yet somehow the minute he actually got drafted there people are bailing. He's my 1.04 (and possibly my 1.03) in 14+ Superflex leagues. It's a hill I'm dying on this offseason lol.

Updated both drafts. We're on the last couple picks in each of them. In league #4 I am actually trying to move back into the draft ideally twice to grab two players still in my board. We'll see if it works or I'll have some waiver moves set up.

thats funny you said that about waiting to be on the clock in both leagues, i legit just had that happen last night where I DIDNT do that and was wishing i did because i was in 2 different rookie drafts with devy and i took Tet McMillan and then he went right away in the other draft and i picked like 4 picks later so should have milked it lol. oh well

Yeah I just figured most people know I'm higher on QBs than most. If they suddenly see I take penix in one league they will trade up ahead of me to get him in the other, or know that he won't slip past me. As I said in a 14 teamer SF I have him closer to a mid first than late first/early second.

Well I wasn't going to post this one because it's a completely different format, but the first round has started so crazy I thought I had to.

League #2, 12 team SF FFPC league. FFPC leagues are more like large keeper leagues rather than true dynasty with only keeping 16 players from year to year with 1 being a kicker and 1 being a DST. With roster size capped at 20 this means you are keeping 14 position players from each year and the rookie draft is a mix of rookies and vets.


What is interesting about this draft is that one person held 7 (1.02, 1.03, 1.04, 1.05, 1.07, 1.08, 1.09) first round picks and I held the next most with 2 (1.06, 1.12)

1.05 Odunze (I was surprised that both odunze and Bowers were picked here. I thought for sure it would have been MHJ, Daniels, nabers, and Maye/McCarthy. My team is set at wr and TE and has greater needs at QB and RB. With me picking at 1.06 I figured we'd see Bowers fall to 1.07. the rebuilder also has basically no one of note. Bowers will definitely have a spot on his team, but he definitely could have gotten him at 7.)
1.06 - Maye (I was really torn here between Maye and McCarthy. Ended up settling on Maye because I do think he's the better talent and I think I can scrape by 2024 with what I have. With the pick on the clock I did try moving up from 1.12 to 1.07 but the rebuilder was not interested in moving down from 1.07 but said they would consider 1.09 if I liked somewhere there)
1.07 - Nabers
1.08 - Brooks (well that was a shocker. I was hoping that brooks was going to fall to 12 and I'd grab him there. I think brooks is fine to take here, if the rebuilder didn't still have QB needs and McCarthy sitting there. Weird pick imo)
1.09 - JJ McCarthy 1.09 traded otc for 1.12, 2.12, and 3.08 (well with McCarthy still sitting there and brooks gone I saw an opportunity to really change my QB room. I got the impression that maybe he didn't view JJ as I did after a couple offers back and forth he sent me the proposal that was accepted. I grabbed McCarthy and will figure out rb later. Hopefully using my 2025 2nd to move up and get Benson or Moss (best vet in draft). Will also be looking at acquiring other cheap rba.
