How we feeling about Odunze post draft?

I have picks 1.3, 1.5 and 1.6. I had planned to take Odunze with the 1.6, but landing spot puts him in a crowded WR room with a strong group of established WRs. Should I still be targeting him with the 1.06? or do I consider trading back and taking Brian Thomas Jr?

Guys, I dont get it. Most mocks had him going to the Bears, why are are shocked. Why is this a bad thing? He goes to a team who just drafted the best QB prospect in years and the room isnt crowded. Its DJM and a 32 year old Keenan Allen on a one year deal. We are playing dynasty not redraft. Rome is still WR 3 unless he lost some talent overnight

Too me he's in a perfect spot right now. He has a aging vet in KA that is a elite route runner. And a stud wr in DJM. To me he can soak it all in, learn, have no pressure to instantly produce and grow into the roll. I'm still taking him at the 3rd wr here and sitting back and enjoying for a long time.

This. Sure nothing magical happened where a better team traded up to get him, but Odunze is clearly the WR3 and all we lost was a fantasy land of him going to the Bills somehow

I think people had dreams of him going to the jets, bills or chargers. Overall I'm holding on him, actually bumped him from 1.04 to 1.03 in my 1qb ranks but still makes me nervous.

In the last 5 years, here are the top guys that have landed in crowded WR rooms
Quetin Johnston
JSN
Pickens
Chase (kinda)

I'm sure I'm missing some, but it does cause a little pause

Agreeing with the above.

Pre-draft, a team thinking that Odunze was the missing piece to a 2024 championship was probably off on their thinking.

Long term is absolutely fine. Might be a slow start this year behind KA and DJM, but who better to learn from?

Curious why these are causing pause:
Quetin Johnston - both guys got hurt at points and he had all the opportunity in the world.
JSN - fair comp but I think odunze is a better prospect.
Pickens - mid 2nd round pick. Who did they have that made it crowded?
Chase (kinda) - worked out just fine.

At the time steelers had Claypool (coming off 2 decent seasons to start his career) and Diontae.

So really Chase is the only one that really blew it away and lived up to early dynasty rookie value early in his career - now all those other guys may hit at some point still. But lately the rookies that have performed early have spoiled us

Yeah. Nothing changed for any of the top guys - they all went where we expected except Bowers. And Bowers was the least predictable. Literally every other guy we had top-8 pre-draft went to the most likely landing spot. But folks are down on Nabers now too.

Shane Waldron offense is junk anyway lol. We as dynasty players lose patience and want these rookies to be All Pros as rookies. It wasn't like Odunze was going to put up 1500 in year one. I like the fit long term. Keenan is old and injury prone and DJ is inconsistent and already 27.

I agree with most, Odunze is still my WR3.

This is good news that he may actually fall behind a couple of other guys for me 😀

Long term, great spot. I like him more than Nabers.

Not trying to derail discussion but would you prefer London over odunze? I may have offer to acquire London for the 1.06 for team 2 below, I think I’d prefer London to jj or Maye with my current roster as he’d be a weekly starter but I’m thinking odunze may be there and I view them as fairly equal values.

Yes, I'd prefer London. I expect London to have a strong '24 and that matters.

I don't know that you need to straight trade that however. I'd look to see if I can get something on top of London.
