Kyren + Aiyuk orrrr...

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Kyren + Aiyuk orrrr...

Postby JamboMac » Wed Apr 17, 2024 4:59 pm

Team 2.

- Kyren Williams + Aiyuk

+ McBride + 1.09?

I have concerns over Kwills ability to stay healthy, and Aiyuk was way too efficient to not regress this season, so unless he sees an uptick in targets then I worry about his production dipping.

1.09 will get me a younger receiver, and although I have Pitts & Engram, I still worry about my TE room.
12 team - 1QB, PPR
QB- Mahomes, Geno, Dobbs
RB- Ekeler, Taylor, Z.White, B.Robinson, Mattison, Stevenson, Zeke
WR- Allen, Jefferson, Tyreek, AJ Brown, M.Thomas, Atwell
TE- McBride, Waller, J.Smith

12 team - SF, PPR, 0.25PPC, 1.5 TEP
QB - Allen, Lawrence, Jackson
RB - JT, Etienne, Hall, K.Williams, Gibbs, Dobbins
WR - Lamb, St Brown, AJ Brown, Aiyuk, JSN, Meyers
TE - Pitts, Engram, Freiermuth, Otton,

Kyren hasn’t been injured really and Aiyuk has been balling. Not sure what you are scared of but keep them in this case.

Pitts is a better maybe in 2024 so I’m not sure you are in TE peril (just yet)

Williams missed several games through the season with a high ankle sprain, and then he broke his hand in the playoff game. He takes a beating with his blocking ability and playing pretty much every snap. I'm positive Rams will draft a backup as well, and there are several sneaky good RBs in this draft.

I'd prefer Aiyuk to 1.09 and Kyren to McBride. See no reason to do this... and that's before seeing you have a top end aging and high upside young TE already on the roster.

Aiyuk will pretty much be on the bench barring injuries or bye weeks, so figured getting a younger receiver like Ad Mitchell/Brian Thomas/Worthy (landing spot dependant) makes sense. I also consider McBride more valuable than Williams long term.

I get that short term, but long term I would rather have McBride I think. I am in a bit of a luxury position where I have easily the best depth in the league, so I have some room to play and maybe get younger, or play the long game as well as win (hopefully).

Agree with above, I get wanting to cash out on Kyren but this is selling way low to me. I’d make it known he’s available and shop him around. Having depth is necessary almost every year. We have a tiny sample of McBride being useful on a team that was completely bereft of weapons. Now they’re likely adding one of the best receiver prospects in a decade, I don’t think it’s a guarantee he maintains his torrid pace to end the year. If you think it helps your team, that’s all that I try to consider with a trade, not necessarily “winning”. But to me you’re punting a lot of value for a roll of the dice and an unproven te.

Given the scoring settings and lineups, McBride IMO is pretty easily the most valuable piece. I love Aiyuk, and Williams' production can't be ignored. Still, 1.09 is not a huge downgrade relative to them to pick up McBride.

With your stable of RBs, Williams is expendable, and his value is the one that could easily take the biggest hit, in 2024. So cashing out on him makes sense. And with your WRs and TEs, Aiyuk probably isn't starting for you. I love the depth you have right now, and this trade would take a bite out of it. But, IMO, the opportunity to get McBride is pretty comfortably worth it.

I think it's a big win for you.

Aiyuk and Kyren pretty easily for me.

But you seem pretty set on doing it. So just go for it or you’ll have regrets.

Agree, and Kyren balled last year but I personally don’t trust him and I don’t think others should either, at least not to the level that people are. The 1.09 is sort of a turd but the nfl draft could shake things up and make it more valuable. I love Aiyuk and don’t agree with the doom and gloom on him, but think overall the McBride side is better.

The premium isn’t enough for McBride to be the best piece. If you desperately needed a TE, I could see it.
