Dameon Pierce value?

team #1 in sig

I traded for Pierce mid-year in the 2022 season when he was looking real good, giving Pickens straight up for him. At the time, I was hurting at RB and felt it was basically an even deal (something actually seconded here on the forum).

Last season, Singletary took over the backfield and now Mixon has stepped into the spot. I've received an offer of the 3.08 from the team that also has Mixon maybe trying to cover his bases or just pure injury insurance.

Trades reported on DLF seem to run anywhere between the 2.09 up to the 3.12 with the majority being towards the higher end. I know he had some injuries but was hoping for a rebound with Singletary gone until Mixon arrived.

This is not like my earlier post (Swift + my 1.10 for the 1.04) in being a really significant trade offer and I traded my 2024 3rd for a playoff run last season for (wait for it...) Singletary. That deal helped me slip into the 4th playoff spot but I died painfully in the championship.

Any thoughts on Pierce regaining some of his luster this season (or if Mixon slips in the bathtub) and taking back the #1 RB spot? Jacobs. Mostert, and maybe Singletary are probably my starters so unless he returns to form, Pierce is just a flex or bye week player.

I might be able to pick up a decent young WR with the new 3rd round pick or trade for another asset. The team won the ring two years ago but has finished in 4th since then. Too early for a full rebuild or just needing a few more pieces to compete with what I have?? Thx.

I’m with you, I traded more than I should’ve for Pierce and all we can do is hope. His current value is probably equivalent to the offer you received, but I’d prefer to hold and hope for the best but that’s just me.

He’s going off the board in the final rounds of startups so his value is almost waiver wire levels

Yep. He is in that “I had my chance” category. He could have seized the day but not relegated to backup duty. I guess hold for one more year to see if he gets another chance to produce

if you can get a 3rd you take it, if not you hold and hope for a mid season role/resurgence

This is how I see it too.

FWIW - I can see why the board would have endorsed Pierce for Pickens. Arrows were pointed in the opposite direction on both players as compared to now. Many of us (myself included) were too quick to write off Pickens. My bet is the advice was a lot about getting out from under him.

Looks about right for his value. If the league is deep enough, he’s a guy I’d rather hold. Decent shot at being the main back if mixon gets hurt, there’s value in that.

He’s just not a fit for the Texans zone blocking scheme. Just look at his ypc last year, worst in the league. I’d take the 3.08 in this deep draft and take a chance on someone else. If not you’ll need to hold and roster him for 2 more years until he hits FA

I am in the 19th round of a 12 team super flex start up and he is still on the board. Id take the 3rd and hope to hit lucky in the draft
