Aiyuk+ or Addison++

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Which side?

Aiyuk+ or Addison++

Postby frerichs5 » Mon Apr 15, 2024 7:30 pm

12 team SF

In a vacuum, would you rather have:

Aiyuk + 2.01

Addison + 2.10 + 2025 1st

For sake of the question let’s say the 1st has equal shot to be 1.07-1.10ish. Obviously can’t guarantee that though.

put me on the side of Addison, the problem I will have is the state of Minny and future QB. Do they stay with Darnold?

Aiyuk pretty easily for me. 2.01 is still in the 2nd tier break, and is a first round talent in just about any other year. You are giving away the two best pieces in this deal and getting back a teams 2nd or 3rd option in passing (JJ and Hock) and will be dealing with a rookie QB, a flyer in 2.10 and a random first a year out.

Easy pass.

Easily the Aiyuk side. We're going to see late firsts and the 2.01 get traded for 2025 1sts in a few weeks. This isn't sufficient value IMO.

Remove the seconds from both sides and I'd consider this.

Thanks everyone! This was kind of my gut feeling as well.

Aiyuk side is favored 70/30 so far.

I know trade calculators are just a gauge, but I found it interesting that DLF, DTC, and KTC all three favor the Addison side even with package discounts for 2 vs 3 pieces. It seems they’re valuing Addison much closer to Aiyuk than most people here.

I don't trust trade calculators. But I was curious so I put Addison vs. Aiyuk in the DLF one and it has Aiyuk way above him.

My sense from this deal and others of late is that the calculators are valuing picks far differently than I do.

DLF is probably my favorite calculator has it seems to be the most reasonable with rookie picks. DTC isnt bad as well. KTC is a mess with rookie picks. Its like every rookie pick is JJ value lol

Great point. My first thought when I looked was that they were only separated by a mid 2nd. Hence my thinking, they have the two pretty close.

Then I look what players it has valued around a mid 2nd and I tend to agree with you here. I was looking at it a little backwards.

I wonder if that is because KTC is crowd sourced and people in dynasty tend to get rookie fever.

to me, and this is just me, Aiyuk just looked like a very physically dominate gadget WR that only a team like SF can make work. I don't really see a good route runner while Addison just looked so impressive his rookie yr; again its just my assessment and BA has already put up GOOD numbers. If it was redraft or you looking to contend then Aiyuk is the play but if your looking for the cream to rise I rather Addison
