If you find the right buyer either of those QBs could get a mid 2nd.
The first 1 isn’t super likely.
The second 1 should be very doable, and maybe selling a little light, but if it’s the best you can get…..

Right. Deal 1 seems like shooting for the moon. Deal 2 seems like shooting for the trash can... maybe there's a deal 3 that hits the perfect balance between. I'd be aiming for an early 2nd in Superflex.

My dream scenario would be to offer both to a QB needy team a QBpackage for a late 1st

I would aim (and hope) for a 2nd for each QB.

If we got to whatever deadline you set for doing this and you can't get a 2nd, I'd settle for a 3rd for each.

The QB package - I like your thinking.
There is team with Hurts & that’s about it at QB.

If he has a contender's roster, that might be the perfect fit. Him adding a single QB still leaves his team at risk for a breakdown because of a QB injury. Adding two starting NFL QBs gives him a QB2 and a backup to provide necessary depth for a 2024 all-in push. That should be worth his late '25 1st.

I could see this working. Geno/RW for a 2025 1st. Probably depends on two things: 1) does the other guy believe RW is going to lose his job in '24 to Fields, 2) what's the market like for QBs of this caliber in the league. In my SF league QBs aren't valued as highly as they are more broadly so I doubt this deal would get done. In other leagues, I can see it.

Worth a shot.

First offer, maybe to the right team.

Mid season last year I sent Geno for a 25 1st to a contender who needed a QB in a 14 team SF.

Second offer looks good to me. I'd send two thirds for one of them in a 12 team SF

Worth a shot to offer both for the 1st, unlikely it gets accepted.

I don't disagree with the group's skepticism of a late 1st being traded Russ+Geno. But when I look at this from the manager presented by the OP, I wonder what his options/plan will be.

The guy with Hurts obviously needs another starting QB in a SF league. Unless he's planning on tearing it all down and rebuilding, he must get a starting QB. How will he get one? For reference, here is the guy's roster again.
  • QBs: Hurts, Jimmy G, Rudolp, Wentz, Flaco
RBs: Kyren, Kamara, Henry, Z White, Ekeler
WR: Adam’s, Kupp, Cooper, Hopkins, Pittman
    TE: Kmet, Johnson
1) trade player(s) for a T15QB? I don't see the depth on this roster to trade for this type QB and maintain status as a contender.
2) trade a late '25 2nd for a starting QB. Who? Minshew or AOC? Darnold? Is Carr available in this league for a late 2nd?
3) trade that late '25 1st for a QB perceived to be better than Geno+Russ. Again, who? We don't know who might actually be available in this league, but maybe a Mayfield or maybe Bryce? Stafford? Cousins? Some of these guys are going to be practically unavailable because others will be counting on them for 2024. And is one of these guys a better bet than both Geno+Russ for the same pick?

Instead of debating if a Geno+Russ package is worth a late '25 1st, I want to know what else can this guy do for a QB if he's going all in for 2024. I don't know. Maybe he can get Stafford for a late 2nd and he decides to roll with that.

If the conclusion is "there isn't really anything better he can do", does it look then reasonable for him to deal the late '25 1st for Russ+Geno? Or maybe the Hurts guy goes into week 1 with no added QBs ...

In the end, I pretty much agree with everyone else. It's worth making the offer. Who know where it will go?

No picks this year? Id counter you for much less than a 1st for one of them :). Makes some offers for Stafford, rodgers, wait until draft to see what ends up happening with the darnold, stidham, brissette situations. Ultimately I’m rolling with 1 qb for a while and trying to buy in season over trading a 1st for geno and Russ personally but maybe he thinks otherwise. It’s worth offering for sure.

I think to future 2nds is about the best you can hope for for one of them. If you can get close to equivalent value, I'd do it ASAP. You could otherwise be holding the bag on both. Obviously, if you can add something to get a future 1st, I'm 100% in. Or if it's 2.01 and future 3rd... I wouldn't trade for two thirds, though. I'd rather risk not getting value out of one of the QBs than sell for that.
