1.03 or WR in that tier?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

1.03 or WR in that tier?

Postby Dunville » Fri Apr 12, 2024 2:10 pm

Hi Team 1,

2023 champion and plan on running it back.

Acquired the 1.03 recently and will take one of the big 3 WRs (whoever falls)

There question is given my roster, would you trade the pick for a vet WR in it’s current typical ranking?

Waddle
D Smith
Pittman etc…

Or just hold and take the rookie?

Thanks

As a contender, I'd prefer Waddle or Smith to Odunze. Despite our hopes for what he may become, he ends up in NYG, CHI, or just doesn't live up to potential and this will all seem silly.

Pittman I like, but I'm worried about Richardson. I could see that going either way.

With your lineup, pretty easily a veteran ("veteran").

Even though it's only start 2WR, you have three flex. Your roster is starter-heavy. With the flexes, whatever player you use 1.03 for is going to play a lot of games for you. Plus, even though Waddle or D Smith are veterans, it's not like they're old.

The only downside, IMO, to those two specific players is that you already have the WR1 on their respective teams. Still, I'd much rather have a productive veteran than a rookie at 1.03 -- who may or may not hit and who, even if he does hit, might not in 2024.

Is Puka a possibility? We've also seen from other threads that some owners might even give up a guy like G Wilson, etc. Bottom line, I'd 100% explore your options.

I'd lean rookie. You've got good depth... start developing the next generation of talent on your team.

I like Waddle. I don’t see Tyreek being in Miami after the 2025 season so he will step into the #1 role and imo outproduce any of this years rookie WRs except MHJ

You're in a pretty good situation. I would probably not make a move now and see what offers you get on draft day. Maybe you get get one of those wrs plus another piece if rookie fever is high with one of those owners.
Team 1: Players of note
PPR--QB, RBx2, WRx3, TE, Superflex, Flex x2
QBs: Lawrence, Stafford, Bunch of backups
RBs: Ekeler, Kamara, Achane, Dillon, Kelley, Moss, Javonte Williams,Jamaal Williams
WRs: Adams, Hopkins, Waddle, Kirk, JSN, Boyd, OBJ, Hyatt, Osborn
TEs: Kelce, Hockenson, Taysom,

and then a few minor players and rookie stashed on taxi

Taking the rookie over any of those guys except maybe Waddle straight-up.

(I wouldn't pay the 1.03 for Smith, and wouldn't even give a 1st for Pittman.)

Really? How come? Don't like AR, don't like the low TD production, something else? Pittman was the WR#13 last year and WR#20 in '22. Maybe he doesn't have elite upside but he puts up numbers. I wouldn't give the 1.03 for him but I would certainly give a later first.

Was really never a fan of him, to the point that I can't remember having (or wanting) any shares of his...ever.

I'm also not sold on AR as a WR supporting QB yet.
