TE dilemma

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

TE dilemma

Postby Dunville » Thu Mar 28, 2024 3:21 am

Team 1,

Lost a few pieces from last years Championship roster.

Hock injury - will he even be usable this year?
Donald retired
Traded away Kupp for Reed and 25 2nd

I have considered a retool and selling off older assets but there is no interest in Kamara, Tyreek, KA so figuring I might as well go again and ride the guys into the sunset. I do have a couple of 25 1sts to help potentially reset the clock a bit next year.

Knowing that I’m having to go in again but stuck with my aging assets would you be sacrificing my 25 1st(s) in potential deals for a TE? (For context Kincaid, Engram, McBride, LaPorta are all not for sale)

Potentially available
Pitts (been told 25 1st+)
Andrews
Kelce

Any input appreciated

Hock - he will be usable. Just probably not early in the season. I'd still project him as a top-12 TE option for '24 on total points. Using 'Muth until Hock's healthy is a fine approach.

TE trade - In non-TEP, I'm rolling with what you have. I don't want to invest any more at the position. In normal PPR, TE is not attractive in the flex. In start-9 or 10, it's almost worth punting the position entirely.

Not surprised you are getting no interest in Kamara/Hill/KA in March. Worst possible time of the year to sell that kind of asset. I'd roll in to the season more or less with what you have and see how the first month goes. That's the time to sell (or buy).

I am of the same mind set and would go for it again. Hockinson should be back in time for the playoffs. I might consider trading Hock, as he is always dinged, injured except one year, to a retooling team for their tight end.

Appreciate the input mate and it’s kind of where I’ve been leaning.

I think I’ve been trying to have my cake and eat it with those vets haha.

I think deep down I know the play is just staying course but the tinkerer keeps coming out looking to recoup the edge I’ve lost.

I’ll maybe shop around to gauge interest in Hock but probably looking at Pennies on the dollar

I would not say pennies, but it is worth a check to find out.
