Can This Team Win Now?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Postby wickerkat1212 » Wed Mar 20, 2024 12:57 pm

DJM, Higgins, JSN, Downs (RMoore, SMoore, Atwell, DPJ, Iosivas, Hutchinson, CJones, DParker, Campbell)

Thanks. I'm hoping by adding Harrison/Bowers (TEP) to Bijan, JSN, and Downs (picks) as well as DJM (trade) that I will improve enough to compete. IDK.

I like your team. This year wont be your season but you are budling a nice team. You will get more for the Kirks and Goffs in season when contenders are in need, unless you get a slam dunk deal Id hold for now
Main Home League
12 Team 1 QB PPR
-Start 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE and 2 Flex

QB: Anthony Richardson
RB: Nobody worth typing
WR: ARSB, Olave, Nico Collins, Tyquan Thornton, Marvin Mims, Tre Tucker, Bell, Austin,
TE: McBride and Dulcich

Draft Picks
-1.01, 1.07, 2 24 3rds and 4 24 4ths.
-4 25 1sts, 3 25 3rds and 3 25 4ths
-3 26 1sts, 2 26 2nds, 1 26 3rd, and1 26 4th

2022 Champions in full rebuild. Looking to contend again in 2025.

Thanks, glad to hear that, had FOMO when he traded the pick for Mayfield.

Whether I'm adding Williams or Harrison at 1.02, or QB3/Bowers/Odunze at 1.06, I think those picks will help a lot, too. I really hope Bowers is there with our TEP (2 ppr) that would really help. I fear he may go before me. Which means I may have to decide between Maye and Odunze.

Bowers or Odunze I take Bowers.
Maye or Odunze I think I have to take Maye—unless I get Williams, then I'll probably go Odunze.

IDK which will be the better outcome:
Williams and Bowers
Harrison and Bowers
Williams and Maye
Harrison and Maye

Feels like a middle of the road team. I'd be approaching 2024 as a "see what happens" kind of year. If you fall out of contention once the year gets going, you could always trade a veteran for draft picks or youth, etc. I wouldn't be moving my future 1st or 2nd round picks right now.

Agree. I'm holding my picks for sure. Since I've gotten the team I've added:

Bijan, JSN, Downs, and via trade, DJM. Looking better, expect to add Williams/Harrison and then hopefully Bowers. I hate being a "MOR" team, so trying to push from bottom to top.

Hard to say. Every league is different. I have some leagues where this would be a middle of the pack team, and some that are much more balanced and anyone can win.

I wouldn't do anything now. You have a young core overall. If you are a few weeks in and struggling, look to move cousins then.

On paper this team likely isn’t coming close. You have enough equity if you had willing trade partners and were ok getting older to flip it around, but that would involve moving jsn/picks/other young pieces.

Maybe worth exploring if you could find desperate rebuilders but I’m likely selling off the old guys here unless you get some really good value the other way.

Looks like more of a pretender roster than contender.
I think if everything breaks your way with this roster, you could make the playoffs.
I just don't see that you have the horses to win in 2024 though.

Decent squad but aside from Bijan/Goff, I think your best pieces are "nice" but not good enough to form a true contender.

The biggest issue I see is a lot of players have to outperform 2024 expectations for this roster to contend. ZWhite has to prove to be that guy for an entire season. DJM has to overcome the addition of a T12WR taking a few targets away from him. JSN has to step up significantly. BRob, who might be my favorite NFL underdog, has to keep it going under a new regime and offensive scheme. Whatever rookies you end up with will be ... rookies we don't yet know how they will produce.

A lot of pieces I'd like to roster, but not enough proven heat. Nothing to be ashamed of, but likely not a serious contender in 2024. FWIW, I'd keep Goff.

IDP:(LB) Bolton, Greenlaw; (DE/DL) ZCollins, BJHill; (S/CB) Pitre, Bates, Witherspoon

RB: Etienne, Stevenson, GusE, AJD, Singletary, CEH, Spiller

Yeah, like I said, year two of orphan, a lot of work to do still. Just trying to see if I'm CLOSER and whether I should keep or move Cousins.
